Revelling in Rebelution

By now you have heard that Torrid is in a fashion collaboration with Australian Actress and Comedienne, Rebel Wilson.  If you love comedy and movies you will know she is from the very popular Pitch Perfect , Bride's Maid , and Night at the Museum movies.  I like that whatever anyone says about her and her body type, she does not let it bother her.  I have seen her in full body tights, pleather and even in her underwear. Her confidence is totally curvilicious! Rebel's Scuba Style Flare Dress - Skirt in background Whenever she makes appearances I am always interested to see what she wears.  Over the years her style has evolved, as does anyone's, who discovers and develops their own style sense.   So learning about her collaboration with one of my favorite fashion haunts, Torrid...what a match made in curvy-land!

Love it or Leave it: The Kimono

I have seen so many bloggers write about kimonos lately, it's fast becoming one of the favorite fashion trends.   I have Seen so many types of kimonos and so far I am loving this trend. I do love a great cover up and find having those types of clothing in my closet a good thing. Much like a jacket  or cardigan, I doubt you can go wrong.

DOFW Magazine Week: Curvy Fashion Designers

One of the things I loved about working with DOFW was the diversity in the articles they featured. They were not afraid to acknowledge that curvy women love fashion too! I enjoyed discovering new designers, one of whom I interviewed for the magazine, Lakisha Livingston-Brown, the reigning Mrs. San Diego 2013 , who was also a plus size model!   She started her own fashion line Z by Zevarra , and debut a new website in October 2013.  Let me tell you, her designs are not for the feint of heart! You must be a confident and fierce woman to show off your curves in her bodycon designs like these. Read more about Z by Zevarra here

Vintage Clothing in Plus Sizes

Lately I've been thinking about vintage wear , especially because I watch Bravo TV a lot and a new program called Decades , features the ups and daily happenings of  their store which specializes in vintage designer clothing for sizes 8 - 0. If they do carry size 10 or 12, they've never mentioned that.  I'm guessing because they cater to a lot of Hollywood starlets. (although in this last episode they had a shoe sale and there were regular people shopping!) It got me thinking that I do love vintage ! I think I have mentioned that before curvy divas, especially because of my love for vintage costume jewelery.   It doesn't have to be from any particular designer, as long as it appeals to my sense of style and is well made! I thought about getting involved with plus size vintage clothing and wondered if there is such a thing? I realized that there is because of Mod Cloth and Shabby Apple fashions!  I love their sites and have featured their cloth...

Found: Stripe Dress from Kohl's!

I couldn't wait to share this curvy divas! I've been looking for a black and white stripe dress for the longest time.  I just couldn't find the perfect one!  Lo and behold, I found this dress on the rack at Kohl's!  It wasn't black and white, it was grey and black, but it looked good! I grabbed it off the rack and headed to the fitting room.  I didn't want it to be a figure hugging type of dress, so a fit was needed!   On closer inspection, I saw it was the Sonoma brand.  It was priced on sale at $39.99!! A great price, which I received for even less at the register because I had their 15% off bargain email!!!   Long & Elegant! Sonoma brand dress A round neckline, nice finish! Notice the diagonal setting of the stripes on the bottom, that's what got me to buy it!  A flattering  look! What I wore in a day! I decided to wear it with this sweater! Apt. 9 Cowl neck sweater - A steal from last Summer also fr...

Bondage

Fashion is a wonderful thing. It represents all aspects of life. Have you ever thought of that curvy divas ?  Let's see, it showcases not just the design talents and skills of the people who create and make them from start to finish; fashion is created from our lives, the past and present, and also predicts future trends! A month ago while I was doing Christmas shopping, I picked up a pair of shoes that I saw and loved the moment I laid eyes on them!   Now, mind you I couldn't try them on because I had recently hurt my right foot and was still recovering from that injury, I couldn't wear shoes, let alone heels!   They were also inexpensive but nicely made so what's not to like?  I posted them on my Oh My Shoegasm page!  I recently wore them (after healing - almost done) and oh my, they didn't disappoint! The style - love it; the comfort - love it It dawned on me that these stiletto heels were in the Bondage style!  I deci...

Curvy Diva's Style Book - How to Wear Sweatshirt

Edited: 1/10/2013: It's unfortunate that either Lucky Magazine or Margie have removed the fab photo I posted of her when I originally wrote this article. You can go to the magazine or Margie's blog that I mentioned below (and disappointing, even linking and crediting doesn't seem to count anymore) to see her style I wrote this article about. I'll do one even better, today I posted about a pair of shoes I loved , and I'm dressed similarly, so here's a photo of me in the look! :)  ___________________________ I saw this gorgeous curvy diva's photo in Lucky Magazine online and I love her look! She's Margie Ashcroft, from her feature, Margie Plus on luckymag.com, showing how she wears her grey sweatshirt layered for Fall.  I love that she paired it with the bright skirt which gives it the "pop" of color .  She has great legs!  The accessories are also bold and beautiful! Loving her look enough to try it! You go girl! Margie Ashcroft on...

Style to Fit You

I discovered a new website with some great fashionable clothing. Unfortunately they only go up to a size 14! I do like that they do go up to a size 14, kudos for that bowanddrape.com ; and I do like what I see! Plus they have accessories. To be honest though, I'm kinda tired of these designers and websites that only offer me accessories when their clothing is so chic and I can't fit them! But, all is not lost curvy divas , we can peruse at will, admire, save what we like, and go find it elsewhere! On the Bow and Drape website you will be able to put your personal information in for your body type, and they will give you suggestions as to what will suit you! That my curvy divas, is styling inspiration! So use as your style inspiration! I love this silhouette because it is flattering on most body types.   You can dress it up or down by adding accessories!  If you want more curves, add a belt! Heels or flat, or even boots, your choice! You can even add a scarf. Just...
