Did you catch the Emmy's this year?  That is one of television's moments where the actors and actresses are recognized for the fabulous work they do on the small screen aka television. As what usually occurs, the stars walk the Red Carpet where they are interviewed by other television news and fashion personalities. Actress Viola Davis with her Emmy!! ( photo credit  Jordan Strauss/InvisionAP) ( an honorable mention because it is so well-deserved ) Some of the fashions that made me think "Fierce" or made me go "Wow" as they went down the Red Carpet were so awesome it brought me to a fierce fashion moment!   Because it is TGIF, yeah, are you singing "Thank God Its Friday" yet?  Here on the blog we are; let's take a look at two fabulous stars who wore their fashion fiercely and didn't care:

Remember when Actress Lena Denham wore this Giambattista Valli gown to the Emmys?   She ended up on the "Worse dress" list of most of the fashion critiques and reviewers.  While they didn't like her outfit, I really loved it.   I loved it because she chose to wear a style that wasn't the norm aka normal.  She chose to wear something that appealed to her sense of adventure.  She chose to be different. You know how that is curvy diva.  I'm sure that at least once in your fashion repertoire you went by your instincts and wore something that you absolutely loved, regardless of how it may look to others?  I know I have.  So I do understand her fashion point of view.  What she may have not done however, is wore it with the confidence an outfit like this requires.   By looking at the photograph below, I get the feeling she wasn't too happy wearing what she had on.  But that's my assumpti...

Did you know that whenever the movie stars and entertainers have their big award shows there is always an After Party?  Yep.  They go to one event or another to have fun and perhaps party all night! For the few, sometimes changed from their gorgeous red carpet gowns and tuxedos to party gear.  It's also at these times that some will show their more fun side. One of the most popular after party is usually held by Vanity Fair. Did you catch the styles on the Oscar's Red Carpet this past week curvy divas?  I did too.  My overall favorite look was worn by an actress who knows how to "kick-ass" in her movies, did just that at the Oscars.  Scarlett Johansson wore a gorgeous green Atelier Versace gown and her statement necklace was a beautiful compliment to her entire look - made a perfect style note!   Scarlett Johansson as seen on elle.com She also wore two different style earrings, nope, they didn't match. Last night the 57th Grammy Awards took over Hollywood and had most of us riveted to our television for 3 hours curvy divas, did you tune in?  I was exhausted by the end of it.  Mostly because it seem to drag on this year. Could it have been the fact that it didn't have the same flair of adventure and disobedience that I expected?  That expectation of unexpectedness is what made the Grammys exciting over the years. The unexpected rocking out of the Stars who make our hearts swoon at their music.   While the happenings inside the Staple Center left me feeling ho-hum, the fashions didn't disappoint! My favorite look of the night, RiRi, Rihanna killed it.  I love that she went out of the box (she was literally covered up) in her very pink Giambattista Valli haute couture-glam gown. You and I both know how difficult it is to decide what to wear when you have an event to attend curvy divas.  We must consider the type of event and wear clothing that is appropriate.  Our goal is always style first, then comfort, especially depending on the weather conditions. Do you think it is the same for actresses and celebrities too? Although they do have stylists and designers to doth on them, I'm sure they worry about what they are going to wear, and how they will look. Add to that, what we, the public, and especially those fashion critics will say about their style choices. I think I can say for most of us that we do enjoy wearing black from time to time, right curvy divas?!   In fact, for some people, they wear only the color black.  I say that's a bit obsessive, but hey, I'm not judging.  Being a transplanted New Yorker living in Florida, I almost fitted that quota too, except for my love of bright colors ~whew~!  Even my prints are black and white!lol! Have you ever worn a black outfit thinking it's going to be just fantastic and you will "blend" in with the scene of wherever you planned on going?  Sometimes we just don't want to stand out, you know what I mean?  Well, by doing that, how can you go wrong?!  I didn't think it was possible though until I read this article on Huffington Post, and saw the photographs of celebs wearing black, and oh my, when wearing black, went really wrong! Some time ago I shared an article I wrote about celebrities who wore the wrong style-look and it got me thinking that I didn't really give any solutions to what they wore, not fully!  It's like me seeing you leave the ladies restroom w/toilet paper trailing on your shoes, or yikes...hanging out of your underwear!!!! What would the fix be?   The faux fix ......for these  "oh no she didn't" fashion moments, aka, a fashion "faux pas".   What did Mindy Kaling do wrong here? Her ensemble shouts "busy", the wrong color combination. I've worn prints that mixed before, the trick is having colors that go well together!   The faux fix?     Her look would have worked if the prints were in the same color family. Or even had she paired either the top or skirt with a solid color. The accessories are also not right, they are great for work though. The Golden Globes Awards were on Sunday night curvy divas , and being one of my favorite award shows, hosted by two of my favorite comediennes, Tina Fey & Amy Poehler, I had to watch!   Loving fashion as much as I do, I tuned in to see what the actresses were wearing on the red carpet.   They turned out  in  their finest gowns and jewelry .  It was great to see bright colors as worn by Sandra Bullock in Prabal Gurung (pictured below) , Amy Adams (pictured below) in Valentino and Julie Bowen  in Carolina Herrera , wore color-blocked gowns.
