Show Me Your Closet

As women in today's society, we have to deal with the constant barrage of advertisements, television programs, designers, everyone and anyone, who constantly compare our bodies and have an opinion of what or who we should look like!  Add being a curvy woman to that equation and what we get is often that we do not measure up to the "American ideal" of what beautiful is, just because of our size! Back in the day when corsets were ever so popular , the women who used to wear them (and some still do) were often seen as very beautiful because of their tiny waistline!  Today, looking at a photograph such as the one below , the woman in that picture seem almost skeletal , and dare I say, "in-human"?  How is it possible for women to want to have such a tiny waist?  While having too much fat around the middle is unhealthy for anyone, male or female, being that naturally small for any woman is practically impossible! I guess by now you have received their new catalogues, with the amazing prices that makes you go, "How is that possible?"   Or you look at each of the clothes inside and "ohhed" and "awwwed" at the stylish coolness of their new looks? Who am I talking about? Why JC Penney of course, now fashionably called JCP!! They have definitely come full-circle, re-inventing themselves with a new look, introducing themselves to an entirely new audience!  My 11 year old being one of them!  We did a Mall crawl this past weekend and out of curiosity, we decided to stop in to window-shop at JCP to see if what they showed in their catalogue, is really what is going on? Well curvy divas , it is!! They have clothing that are so clean and simple, yet so stylish!   The colors remind me of candy and bubble gums and those hazy days of Summer and Spring combined!   I even remarked that the looks brought me back to my childhood when the clothing was simple but stylishly nice! ...
