Show Me Your Closet

Leggings, the bane of fashion to some, the joy to others.   You know how I feel about them already curvy divas, I LOVE them!  Simply because they are so comfortable, and are the easiest go-to items in anyone's closet.   You must own at least one pair.  You can wear them for work outs:

Leggings is a fashion item I will continue to write about   curvy divas . Why?   It is a favorite go-to clothing item for me. It is comfortable, goes with almost everything , on top, with the right clothing, or beneath, again, with the right clothing choice, you can rock your style wearing leggings. Some fashionistas will continue to say, "Oh, leggings are not pants, they should never be worn outside". To that I will always disagree. One of the negatives about some leggings is the fit , they are like a second skin after all and will fit your body to a tee, as in watch out for camel toes!lol!  Not to forget dimples and everything else.  This is when you wear a longer tee shirt, or a tunic or even a mini dress over your leggings. One of my favorite thing to do is to wear layers on top of my leggings; this way I have lots of styling options! Being a curvy diva, I cannot just throw on a tee shirt and go, I will wear a tank top under a tee shirt...

I received a Victoria Secret's catalogue with some fantastic sales inside!  It has been a while since I received their catalogue and was glad to be on their list again. I saw these leggings and immediately loved them! They are called  Equestrian Ponte Leggings  and are in sizes small to extra large. I love the look. They are cotton spandex with faux leather.  I know Victoria Secret's can run larger, depending on the style and fit, which is what I love about their clothing. Mark you, not all of their styles are like that, just some, so yes, I will fit my curvy bod into it if they work for me. The model is super skinny, which is their ideal body-type of choice and that is so uncool, however I do plan on checking these leggings out so I am placing them on my "Want" list!

My Island home of Jamaica is also known for its trends in fashion.  You didn't know this curvy divas?   Just attend any event where Jamaicans frequent and you will see some of the most fiercest fashionistas out there!  We do have a sense of style and we love to play with our fashion; and for some, the playing can be from the most demure, the most stylishly trendy, or even the most outlandishly outrageous! I recently perused online at jamaica-gleaner.com   (our local newspaper)  a magazine that I remembered reading with avid adoration when I was a young teen, Flair Magazine , a Jamaican Gleaner production!  In an article entitled, "Spring Fashion's Wonderland" , using the theme of Alice in Wonderland,   Garfene Grandison, Assistant Lifestyle Coordinator of Flair Magazine with the help of some local fashion bloggers featured fashion trends for Spring 2013! You might know by now curvy divas,  Kohl's is one of my favorite stores to shop!  I love it because they carry fabulous names in fashion and fabulous finds for every sizes, including ours!  You have seen the other some of the clothes I've gotten from Kohl's but I've never shared my Vera Wang finds...um..not true, I just remembered, I did share it before!  My Vera Wang sheath dress (XL) from several seasons ago that I absolutely love to wear!  I paired it with leggings, (have worn with jeans or dress pants too)! I love leggings and   despite what the other folks out there in the sizes 0 - 12 world may think and they always opine, there's nothing wrong with a curvy diva in leggings!  It's always been a cringe worthy moment when I hear comments like "women that size shouldn't wear leggings" or "leggings are not pants and should not be worn by themselves"! While I agree somewhat with the latter quote, I do say "yes" we can wear leggings! Personally, I prefer to wear leggings with tunics or with dresses that are shorter.  I am more comfortable wearing them with leggings.  What I do not like seeing curvy divas, is a woman in leggings paired with short, tight tee-shirt.  Most time the leggings are too thin and there will be a glimpse of butt crack!
