Curvy Looks: The Full-Body Project - Leonard Nimoy

The late Leonard Nimoy "championed full-figured" women.  He wanted women with full-figured bodies to not worry about what others, i.e., society thought of their looks and just be the beautiful human beings who God created them to be.  He wanted them to "...be able to stand ... and present themselves to the world" just as they are.  How beautiful is that?! I can't remember hearing about this book that the man who in my head will always and forever be Mr. Spock, "Live long and prosper" , (had to write that out loud ~smile~) published!  Did you know this curvy divas?  The book is entitled Full-figured Bodies , and from the photographs I have seen so far, the women he portrayed in the book are absolutely phenomenal and defies the stigma of society's depiction of beauty . Author, Natalie Angier , who wrote an introduction to the book said that Mr. Nimoy didn't like that most women felt bad about their own bodies .  ~sidenote: we do that don...

Curvy or Model-thin..what's your fantasy?

We know that in our Society today, the woman who is model-thin, a size 0 is the ideal for designers , and also for some men.  They don't want women who look even remotely like they have eaten, or that they do eat!   How in the heck did they come by this standard anyway? How did designers create this as the normal?  Because these designers used those mannequins! The mannequins being without any particular shapes at those times, (years ago) seem to make their clothing fit better.  This form appealed to the aesthetics of the ones designing their clothing.  That is why they have made this the normal requirement for women, to be that thin, unrealistically so!  These ideals, and Society's embracing of them, are what have caused anorexia and bulimia in young girls and women!
