Manstyle: Sustainable Fashion Designer - Joshua Katcher

As we continue to live in our world, there are many innovative companies who are trying to make a difference in our lives by doing what so many of us as individuals are learning to do, recycle, reuse and repurpose.   They are known to be Social Entrepreneurs that is, environmentally friendly, sustainable companies who seek to make a difference in their communities and the world, while earning a profit. Where there are sustainable companies, there are often sustainable designers.  One such designer of a men's clothing line is Joshua Katcher of Brave Gentlemen .  Mr. Katcher creates a line of vegan menswear that is, according to the socially aware online company Chivas (theventure.com),  known to be both "luxurious and ethical".

Which Nude Lipstick is Perfect for your Skin Tone?

If you've seen my video Vlog about how to remove glitter nail polish and at that time I also shared other random tips , you'll remember I put on a Nude Lipstick, encouraging you curvy divas to not be afraid of colors that you wouldn't normally wear . The online magazine Refinery 29 featured Nude Lipstick like you've never seen them before , because there was one for every skin tone .  It was pretty interesting to see the variety and I wanted to share them with you. Amongst the variety were: Nude with yellow undertones:

Blog Under Construction - Our Apologies

You've seen the write ups the different looks of our blog, the changes that we are making.   Unfortunately the previous themes are not meeting our needs so it's going to take a bit longer to find one with the right fit.   It doesn't make sense to keep a theme that doesn't allow us to tweak and fix the way we want, hence our search continues.   We hope you will pardon the links that don't work, or the slight wonkiness that happens from time to time , or the varied themes you see as well.  When you have a vision, you strive to have the best fit for it, don't you?  We do too.   Thank you again for your patience.

Curvy Looks: Jewelry Tattoos

I am sure you have seen those temporary fake tattoos (tatts) that kids and even some grown ups love to wear.  I've also seen some cutesy fashion tatts that my daughter Mandi and  grandson JJ likes to use and I let them have fun with them.  I've even put on a few cute ones on my own wrists in the past. What I didn't know however, was that fashion tattoo jewelry existed. Over at Refinery 29 Gina Marinelli revealed that Moda Operandi has a new fashion collaboration with a few jewelry brands who have created these fashion jewelry tattoos. Take a look at the photo below.  Doesn't the model look so attractively dressed in her arm candy of accessories?  I absolutely love it!  As seen on Refinery 29  Lulu DK   X Daniela Villegas Gold Tattoo jewelry

Which Shoes for this Jumpsuit?

I've fallen in love with jumpsuits because of how versatile they are. I like the jeans vest with this jumpsuit and a belt, I would remove the self-sash, if I could. But if not, then the belt would fit over it. But which one of the three pairs of shoes would look best? Which Shoes for this Jumpsuit? by donna-reid featuring platform wedge shoes

Hair Trends: Rainbow Colored Hair

I've got a new obsession. Yes, a new one, rainbow colored hair.  I am fascinated by the women who are bold enough to do this look. I did my own bold look two summers ago when I went a very daring red.   I am actually antsy and really want to try pink and blue and green...need I say more? LOL!  Because I have to keep my looks under wraps (at least for the next couple of months) so that I don't scare the very conservative people I work with.  I cannot be really "loud" with my hair.  In my heart I am a child of adventure and do not let others bother me but I must admit there are times when "they" will suppress my spirit. These days though I'm happy to say that I'm learning to live in the moments and I am again learning to let me be me. So yes, I will find a way to try new colors and I do like rainbow colors! How exciting. What I do like about rainbow colors are that there are some that are really LOUD , and others that make a statement without be

Why You should Clean Your Makeup Brush

You've probably done this before curvy divas, borrowed a friend's makeup brush to put on your makeup, or to correct a makeup flaw...or even to cover a pimple?  I had a bit of a shock when I read that for one woman, doing the latter caused her to be paralyzed!  Why?  Because the makeup brush she used to cover a pimple was not clean.  I can't tell you how often I've told my own daughters to be careful of using other friends makeup and even their makeup tools because it may not be safe. Gone are the days when I would borrow my friend's lip-gloss or eye pencil.  It seems as if there are more risks involved in the least things you do these days.  I never worried about stuff like that back-in-the day. However today it is different and it pays to be really careful. I just recently washed my makeup brushes two months ago.  Did you know you're supposed to wash them weekly?  Yes, weekly!  I don't, do you?  I usually don't worry about it because I'm the

Curvy Looks: Sheer Inspiration - Eureka I Styled It!

So remember when I restyled and refashioned my sheer 80's shirt into a new look with my Old Navy boyfriend jeans and the JLO tank top ? Little did I know that I was unto something old, being new again! Yes curvy divas, the really sheer look is here to stay with  a totally new vision of sheer inspiration.  I'm on Issuu are you?  I was doing what I love to do, peruse what I affectionately call Magrags and came across BlkonBlk a really awesome magazine published by Black Magazine with some really great images of which I was impressed and loving their style. Then I saw this look: I could visualize myself in this style and wondered if I could recreate it.  I had a high neck cowl sweater that  was similar and I could wear my bondage shoes.   Unfortunately, I didn't have any sheer skirts or dress.  Well, there goes that idea.  But perhaps I could still see what I could create using the shirts I have! I grabbed two of the three sheer black shirts I have and

Want: 2015 Spring Bag Guide

The list you've been waiting on whether you know it or not curvy divas, is here.   The 2015 Spring Bag Guide by way of Elle Magazine online written by Fashion Editor, Danielle Prescod .  For me, it's been a while since my last handbag purchase.  And although I recently got wind of what is popular and trending by way of the 2015 It Bag , it is definitely time to see what I should add to my wardrobe.  How about you?  Let's take a walk and see what Danielle have found for us. The Backpack I'm not a backpack carrying person, (though I might be now that I'm back in school) and  I definitely would grab this one,  the River Island black leather-look drawstring backpack  below.   I am a sucker for hardware and quite like the zippers and grommets  which gives this bag a trendy but stylish-for-keeps look. The Bucket Bag One of my favorite styles in handbags that I own and love to wear  during the "summer" months (June - September for
