Have you heard? The New Heel Height

Three-inch heels are making a come-back!  The usual Five-inches and up stiletto heels are still in fashion, but heels are going back to 3 inches! Get, out! I never thought that would ever happen again curvy divas ! I thought the super high heels were here to stay in like....forever! I went from wearing two inches, to three, then three & a half, then four and now I'm quite comfortable in four and a half inches....and yes, I own a few five-inch heels, and those my dears are quite a staggering height, even for me!  But I didn't dare go any higher!  I'm a tall and curvy diva titivating around on five inches at times in my office, towering over all and sundry, because where I work, only the few fashionable ones will risk the look, while the rest, well, enough said! However, when I read the news that heels were going back to the 3-inches of yester-year, at least for Spring , well, I wasn't too disappointed to hear that bit of news! Technology in Fashion

After exploring sustainable fashion I wanted to see what else is out there other than the usual, and have discovered wearable technology!  I must say that this is very exciting! Being a fan of SyFy, and beholding anything futuristic well, I love the idea of wearable technology going mainstream!   Can you see yourself going to the department store or boutique and picking up a tee that has embedded into the fabric technology that can and will change your life? Imagine if you didn't need to have your cellphone in your hand but rather the clothing that you wear will be able to do all the things that your cellphone does ....you can say out loud, "Call Amanda" and suddenly Amanda is on the line for you to talk to!  Or "Do a Google search" and suddenly you're able to have the information you seek right in front of you? Well hold on a moment curvy divas, I don't know if that is all possible yet, but can you imagine if that were so?! J ennifer Darmour wrote

Vintage Clothing in Plus Sizes

Lately I've been thinking about vintage wear , especially because I watch Bravo TV a lot and a new program called Decades , features the ups and daily happenings of  their store which specializes in vintage designer clothing for sizes 8 - 0. If they do carry size 10 or 12, they've never mentioned that.  I'm guessing because they cater to a lot of Hollywood starlets. (although in this last episode they had a shoe sale and there were regular people shopping!) It got me thinking that I do love vintage ! I think I have mentioned that before curvy divas, especially because of my love for vintage costume jewelery.   It doesn't have to be from any particular designer, as long as it appeals to my sense of style and is well made! I thought about getting involved with plus size vintage clothing and wondered if there is such a thing? I realized that there is because of Mod Cloth and Shabby Apple fashions!  I love their sites and have featured their clothing in articles in

H&M Clothing Recycling: Sustainable Fashionistas

An article I wrote last November about Sustainable Fashion  has me looking for fashion that is sustainable, i.e., fashion houses and designers that are and continue to be into taking care of the environment.  Those that actually do recycle and reuse clothing and accessories, not necessarily as re-sale only, but incorporating it into new, usable materials!  Now don't get me wrong, I LOVE Thrift, Vintage, etc., like it or not, that is a fashionable alternative that continue to speak in today's fashionable world! In this mode, I recently found out something wonderful about one of my favorite stores curvy divas,  H&M!  They recycle!!   I am not talking about putting plastics and glass bottles in their separate and proper containers, I am talking recycling FASHION!  They recently started  a recycling clothing program with major benefits to those who participate!  It is a program they started only last month! photo courtesy of triplepundit.com Jen Boynton wrote about

Found: Casual Plus size Dress

There are certain times curvy divas, when I just want to slip into a little dress, put a few pieces of accessories on, and go about my business!  I love dresses, so I have several of them (not enough!).  They are either Maxi-style, or too short to wear alone, so I wear with pants or leggings, (which I actually don't mind doing because that is my signature style)! So I've been looking for some that I will be able to wear without feeling self-conscious being a girl of a certain curvy attributes! Dress from KJordan.com I love the pattern on this dress! Note the Key-hole neckline! Worn with lots of bangles (bracelets) & hoop earrings! The Look!  tried getting a full body shot!

Layering

It is cold in Orlando today, COLD!!!! I've heard comments from some people that they don't remember it ever being this cold! Yep, welcome to Florida, one minute you're freezing your buns off; and in another minute, you might just be sunning those buns!   One thing I like to do curvy divas, is wear layers.  I think I've gotten it down to an art-form too.  You can do it too! Just grab any shirt, or blouse, and wear under a long-sleeved sweater.   I chose a pink man-style (but made for women) shirt which I had purchased at Macy's from the Ralph Lauren collection . My APT. 9 Infinity Scarf from Kohl's The Lauren shirt was on sale when I bought it, for half off + more, what a deal!  It is in one of my favorite colors, pink!  Paired with the striped sweater from Kohl's men's department, accessories were girly beaded hoop earrings, pearls and beaded bracelets!   And yes, my usual style of a man-size watch!  Do you sense a trend here?!
