Oh- My- Shoe-Goddess!!

A Week of Blogsperiment - The Reveal

Day 1 So curvy divas , getting straight to the point, I did the blog-speriment because I wanted to see if my viewership/readership would grow or decrease by doing only photo blogging with links, and/or very little information. Day 2                                       As a blogger, as much as I do enjoy doing what I do, if I say  that it doesn't matter whether I have a readership or not, I would be lying.  Every writer wants, needs to know that their work is appreciated and liked...yes, and/or loved...even if only by one or two people!  That knowledge is motivating enough to give us that secret smile of work well-done!  Since I've started this blog my readership/clicks have grown. Yes that secret smile is on my face as I write that fact! I love reading other blogger's work.  I admire those who are able to do what they do and make a living from it.  I also like looking at how their site is set up and comparing their blog's look to mine.  There are

Body Positive Image

I will give you an explanation of last week's blog-speriment curvy divas , soon, I promise. However, in the meantime,   while having fun pinning on Pinterest, I saw a photo (pin) of a gorgeous diva whose sense of style I quite admired and promptly re-pinned to my Curvy Diva's Pinterest board.  I went in search of where the source of this image came from and discovered a blog called Musings of a Curvy Lady! This is the image I pinned. I love that she's not afraid of her body, shape, size, and most of all, unafraid of wearing colorful brights!!! ! http://www.musingsofacurvylady.com/2013/05/taste-rainbow.html! In perusing her blog, I found another gorgeous outfit from her article about tribal prints! Photo credit:  http://www.musingsofacurvylady.com/2013/06/gone-tribal.html I'm loving her!!! How divine to find someone who resonates such a positive body image!!  It is wonderful to be confident in yourself and who you are!   Do walk your fingers

A Conversation about Fashion - Emerging Designers

I have had the link to this video for a while, however, due to the previous template I didn't share it in the proper way until now!   In 2010, six emerging designers had a conversation with Eric Wilson, New York Times Reporter, about developing their business in New York. They talked about the opportunities that were "out there" and shared their individual experiences, as well as their mentors, if any, and other designers who they admired. They gave New York props because people are more willing to work with them being new and emerging designers. What stood out to me from this conversation curvy divas , is the love each of these designers have for their craft, sticking with what they believed and not giving up! It is great that each of them realized their own design aesthetic showcasing their individuality! Must Have Maxi Skirts!

There's something about long skirts that I really love. Perhaps it is the way the skirt swings around my legs as I walk!  Perhaps it is the long lean silhouette you get from wearing a longer skirt!  Perhaps it is the beautiful, brightness of the colors that reminds me of spring and summer!  The styles, the LOOK....whatever it is curvy divas , I love, LOVE Maxis! On Refinery29.com, Lauren Caruso featured Maxis "to die for" in an article entitled, "12 Flowing Maxi-skirts for every Day-to-Night Summer Fete" !  These were my favorite!  To see the full article, click on the link posted with the title! What I wear in a Day - Spring has Sprung!

It is practically Summer isn't it curvy divas ?   I live in a sunny state, and it is that way 90% of the times.  We do however, have our rainy seasons, hurricanes, and even cold to freezing days!  Recently I decided it was time to put my boots and sweaters away.  After all, Spring has been here and is practically over!   I wanted something light, fun but work-worthy to wear to work and decided on a jacket that I happen to have two of, just because! You know, just because you love a style, and especially if it was on sale when you were purchasing it, why not get two..... "just because" !lol! These are bolero jackets by Apt. 9 from Kohl's (there's a light pink blouse under the grey jacket) It falls about mid waist, and because it is a loose fit , covers my curves and gives me a great silhouette! See the details on the neckline Press-on button detail! Elbow-length sleeves - note the rounded neckline! The back The

Shop Italy Week

I bumped into this tid-bit of information just today curvy divas ! If you love Italy, and Italian fashion (who doesn't?!), you will have the opportunity to shop everything Italia this week in New York City! Yes, Shop Italy on Madison!  To quote, it's a "series of spring Shopping Events at Italian boutiques on Madison Avenue, June 1st through June 9th!  Have you ever been in any of those Italian boutiques in New York?  I have several years ago, to confess, and I adore their fashion!  At the time, I bought the most darling skirt suit that I still own today...uh uh...quality is longevity! If you're anywhere nearby and can do it, stroll on over to Madison Avenue before this event ends!  Here's a link to learn more : The handbag below is from: Xento Xento Handbag - Ilario

Risque Swim Wear - Swimming or just fun times on the sand?

These days, it seems the designs of some are getting more risque! There is sexy, and then there is OMG...what?!  Take a look at the swimsuit below from an article I read on Frisky.com. Winona Dimeo-Ediger shared a couple of swimsuits she simply doesn't want, and I quite agree with her, in an article titled " Do Not Want: The Stand-Perfectly-Still-Or-Else Swimsuit" .   Do you think an item like this is made for actually physical activity such as swimming?  Ummm, I don't think so!  This beautiful lady would be sitting and tanning...and drinking cocktails! If you are able to pull off a look like this, go for it!  However, do remember, if you're going to be overexposed due to a "nip-slip", well, don't wear it! Be careful the type of swim suit you choose this season.  Here are some more that are questionable! Swimming or just fun times on the sand? Read more here :
