MagRags: Instyle Magazine and Diversity

I love In style Magazine. It is one magazine that I turn to for the latest trends and fashionable information. Pretty much the same thing you do when you read with me curvy divas! :-) It was great to see the lovely and beautiful Actress, Viola Davis on the cover sporting her natural hair! I am happy to see the limitations and restrictions sometimes set on ourselves because of how we look does not worry this great magrag.  Good on you Instyle!

Style Ideas - What do you do with your (P)Leather Jacket?

Summer is unofficially on its way out the door curvy divas. Imagine this scenario, you're planning to go out, but there's a "nip" in the air because the weather is getting cooler.  You decide to dress in layers because although it's colder in the morning, you know it will get warmer eventually.   What do you wear?  You put on a tank, a blouse or shirt then throw on that leather (or pleather) jacket and out the door you go.   What do you do when the weather gets warmer and you have to run errands, or be the busy girl about town?   You tie that jacket around your waist!  Walllah~! That seems to be the trend according to blog Madewell at blog.madewell.com.   Would you tie your leather jacket around your waist?   Should you end up wearing a cardigan or other type of jacket, you could go really preppy and tie it around your shoulders.     The leather jacket tied round your waist is such a very edgy look!   It's a love for me!...

Global Fashions: Designer: Issey Miyake - The Story Of

I have always LOVED Issey Miyake's work. His sense of style, use of colors in his designs, and that also goes for the models on his runway!   I believe he does go up to an XL in his designs, at least in the Vintage Issey Miyake's he has.  Hmm, something to check out. In the mean time, check out his fashion show on the runway entitled, Issey Miyake - The Story Of   on You Tube's Fashion TV. or click on this link: Issey Miyake - The Story Of   Let me know what you think!

Vintage Vogue

In March of 2012 before I decided to create this blog, I shared my love for Vogue magazine on my d-foreverserenity blog with the article I am super-imposing below. I have this "thing" for magazines. I won't say obsession...I love the glossy pages, the colors, and usually read them from cover to cover....! I had so many magazines piled up, I had to get rid of them...and yes, regretted it the minute I did! Anyway, I'm so glad there are online choices now!!!! Takes up less place in my bedroom!lol! I have saved some of my favorite issues, and shared some style inspiration and observation below. These were my  favorite looks from a  Vogue  magazine issue from August 2006 , six years ago in the past, I know, but I have tons of mags and I love  flipping  through the pages!  These  looks are so fresh today !!  Vogue  featured the color combination of  "The  Red  is the new Black" - red being the new black at the time! Patrick Demar...

Diversity in Fashion

As read on Refinery29.com, Emily London wrote, "....Debenhams * has worked with inclusivity campaigner and fashion commentator Caryn Franklin, MBE to create a high-summer lookbook featuring men and women from a truly diverse range of backgrounds".      Wow!  Wow! I'm excited and amazed that they have done this curvy divas!!!!  Not only are they using plus size models, they are using people of all ages, and sizes, as well as paraolympians; the models featured are so varied and oh so beautiful!!!!   As I read on, Caryn Franklin continued, " To showcase the range of sizes and labels at Debenhams this season, I chose models to inspire us with their own unique looks and personalities. I loved seeing the way that clothes emboldened each woman and man, and I loved being on a shoot where no two models were the same" .    Bravo!!!!
