Re-post: Look of the Day ~ What to wear to Christmas Dinner?

Now that you have seen the "Love it or Leave it" article when I first purchase my JLO design maxi dress curvy divas , in this re-post I am trying to decide how to wear it, and  you will see what I actually wore in my Look of the Day for dinner Christmas 2013.   I like to accessorize as I'm sure many of you do.  Although the dress had a self sash, I wanted to see what it would look like with a different belt; and if I should wear a sweater because at the time it was cooler here in Orlando....decisions, decisions! Have you thought about what you will be wearing yet for your celebrations?  I haven't even decided yet if I am hosting dinner this year as I did last year or not.  Stay tuned to these blogs to find out where I will be having Christmas dinner and what I will wear! In the meantime, go see how I styled my JLO maxi dress! ~Click the link below~: Look of the Day ~ Fabulously Curvy

I am enjoying these re-posts, re-discovering articles I've written, oh the joy!   I do hope my dear curvy divas that you are enjoying them too.  Today's curvy re-post is a Love it or Leave it article! It was actually my first JLO brand purchase, a gorgeous maxi dress!  I love Jennifer Lopez' work as a singer, and actress (I won't hear any bad thing about it!), and I am ga-ga about her clothing designs.  When I get back to writing new articles, I will share why I do like her designs so much. Go to the link below to see that dress. Then stay tune for the follow-up article on the next re-post! Can you guess what that will be?  Nope, I'm not even going to give you a hint.  So, read the linked article, then keep an eye out for the next one! ~Click here~: Love it or Leave it? ~ Fabulously Curvy

If you have done it before, isn't it like, really fun?  I know, the clothes are used, and some of them are really so, old, but if you love vintage curvy divas, even better !   And if you love a bargain, you've hit the mother lode! Plus, some people really give away some really nice stuff so what's to lose?!!!!!!   I love thrift shopping and will continue to do it even when I have hit the mother lode!lol! Sidebar: you have heard the song by Macklemore featuring Wanz - Thrift Shop, ".... Only got twenty dollars in my pocket  I'm, I'm, I'm hunting, looking for a come up  This is fucking awesome... ".... Vintage Clothing in Plus Sizes

Lately I've been thinking about vintage wear , especially because I watch Bravo TV a lot and a new program called Decades , features the ups and daily happenings of  their store which specializes in vintage designer clothing for sizes 8 - 0. If they do carry size 10 or 12, they've never mentioned that.  I'm guessing because they cater to a lot of Hollywood starlets. (although in this last episode they had a shoe sale and there were regular people shopping!) It got me thinking that I do love vintage ! I think I have mentioned that before curvy divas, especially because of my love for vintage costume jewelery.   It doesn't have to be from any particular designer, as long as it appeals to my sense of style and is well made! I thought about getting involved with plus size vintage clothing and wondered if there is such a thing? I realized that there is because of Mod Cloth and Shabby Apple fashions!  I love their sites and have featured their cloth...

Found: Casual Plus size Dress

There are certain times curvy divas, when I just want to slip into a little dress, put a few pieces of accessories on, and go about my business!  I love dresses, so I have several of them (not enough!).  They are either Maxi-style, or too short to wear alone, so I wear with pants or leggings, (which I actually don't mind doing because that is my signature style)! So I've been looking for some that I will be able to wear without feeling self-conscious being a girl of a certain curvy attributes! Dress from KJordan.com I love the pattern on this dress! Note the Key-hole neckline! Worn with lots of bangles (bracelets) & hoop earrings! The Look!  tried getting a full body shot!

Layering

It is cold in Orlando today, COLD!!!! I've heard comments from some people that they don't remember it ever being this cold! Yep, welcome to Florida, one minute you're freezing your buns off; and in another minute, you might just be sunning those buns!   One thing I like to do curvy divas, is wear layers.  I think I've gotten it down to an art-form too.  You can do it too! Just grab any shirt, or blouse, and wear under a long-sleeved sweater.   I chose a pink man-style (but made for women) shirt which I had purchased at Macy's from the Ralph Lauren collection . My APT. 9 Infinity Scarf from Kohl's The Lauren shirt was on sale when I bought it, for half off + more, what a deal!  It is in one of my favorite colors, pink!  Paired with the striped sweater from Kohl's men's department, accessories were girly beaded hoop earrings, pearls and beaded bracelets!   And yes, my usual style of a man-size watch!  Do...

Look of the Day

When you see something that "jumps" out at you when you're shopping curvy divas , do you purchase it?   Or do you try it on, think about it and then go back to get it?  I have to get it!  Once I take it off the rack, try it on in the fitting room and it "speaks" to me....well, it's a must have! My recent post, "Love or Leave It?" about that pink and white Jennifer Lopez color block dress... I didn't leave it and I do LOVE it!  I decided that I would wear it to Christmas dinner at my oldest daughter's house.   I just didn't know what to pair it with because not only was it cold in Orlando that day , it has a white top, supposed I spilled something on it; and I'm not feeling particularly "thin" at the moment, so I didn't want to have a "puffy" look in the dress! You know what I'm talking about curvy divas! You want to look good, but you don't want to look too chunky! (and let me not have to say tha...
