Accessories of the Day

I don't always wear matching jewelery and often wear mis-match items.  Lately, I've re-discovered some "vintage" goodies and love adding them to my playful pearls, which I have an endless supply of in different designs...lol!  Long strand of faux Pearls; Silver hoops, Silver heart necklace Here I am wearing my accessories of the day! A closer look - note the basket weave locket style pendant! It doesn't take much to give yourself a pull-together look!  Without accessories, my outfit wouldn't stand out!  Accessorizing gives my dressing the edgy-look I love!

Buttoned-down White Men's Shirt

Have you ever worn any items from your closet three different ways?  It's not really that hard to do is it  curvy divas? That was the discussion on a website I visit often BeyondBlackWhite.com , I entered a contest for a chance to win a $100 Visa Gift Card.  My first thought was for my black knit dress from Kohl's,which I even wrote about recently .  I've worn it three different ways in the past, with jacket & heels; with a pair of dress pants; and with boots and a jacket; I mentioned this on the blogsite for my entry! I got to thinking that there are other clothing that I do wear in a pretty versatile way, one of them is   my white buttoned-down shirt !  It is a men's shirt that I love, especially because it belonged to my dad.  This was my most recent outfit with that white buttoned-down shirt: For Work: White shirt, styled with long black skirt & beige/khaki boots Accessories: multi-strand pearl necklace, earrings & brace

On the Runway at London's Fashion Week

I'm catching up on news as much as I can, fashion news that is!  In between work, life and everything else curvy divas as the saying goes, time waits on no man (or woman)!   So I'm perusing the Intranet looking in on Yahoo's News  information about London's Fashion Week , when I viewed the following photograph from HaizhenWang's runway show:     Model wears design by Haizhen Wang at Somerset House in Central London Photo by Joel Ryan/Invision/AP The photograph above caught my eye, because it isn't what you would expect to see on the Runway, right?  I am aware that it is fencing, it's obviously a fashion statement, a bold one at that because it made me look!  At any rate, here is another outfit from Haizhen Wang! Photo by Joel Ryan/Invision/AP Much like beauty curvy divas, fashion is in the eyes of the beholder! I do love this red leather jacket!  Can't you see yourself rocking it?!  If they had it in our sizes, we sure would! On a

Wearing Red

It's Valentine's Day again and I'm sure many of you curvy divas are wondering what to wear tonight?  Some of us have plans, but others will keep it low keyed at home...or not! Whatever you do curvy divas, I found some great suggestions on Elle.com!  They featured RED , in everything, accessories, clothing, make up, even underwear!  Here are my favorite picks! I LOVE this dress! The silhouette is beautiful and will flatter most body types!  I checked and this item doesn't go larger than a size 12 by the designer, and they are out of this style at Neiman Marcus, however, it's a great look and you can find something similar elsewhere!  If it is too long, find a shorter length. Grammy Looks - My Favorite Dresses

Did you watch the Grammy Awards last night curvy divas ?  It was fantastic!   Part of the magic of the Grammys is watching the stars walk the Red Carpet and they did not disappoint .   There were a few looks I liked a lot, however, two looks were my favorite of the night! The first look, this diva can be a handful with her personal life, but her music is still rocking!  I love dancing to it and enjoy watching her videos!  Who am I talking about curvy divas?   Well, it's Rihanna of course! The color was a bright red, so apt for her personality!  The fact that their was this "memo" that went out telling people how not to dress, she definitely skirted around it by wearing this sheer number which although it covered up nicely, showed enough skin!   Yahoo Music reviewer gave graded her dress an A for this dress and I agree! Found: Stripe Dress from Kohl's!

I couldn't wait to share this curvy divas! I've been looking for a black and white stripe dress for the longest time.  I just couldn't find the perfect one!  Lo and behold, I found this dress on the rack at Kohl's!  It wasn't black and white, it was grey and black, but it looked good! I grabbed it off the rack and headed to the fitting room.  I didn't want it to be a figure hugging type of dress, so a fit was needed!   On closer inspection, I saw it was the Sonoma brand.  It was priced on sale at $39.99!! A great price, which I received for even less at the register because I had their 15% off bargain email!!!   Long & Elegant! Sonoma brand dress A round neckline, nice finish! Notice the diagonal setting of the stripes on the bottom, that's what got me to buy it!  A flattering  look! What I wore in a day! I decided to wear it with this sweater! Apt. 9 Cowl neck sweater - A steal from last Summer also from Kohl's -

Found: Accessories & Footwear at Burlington Coat Factory

Have you ever heard of Born Concept footwear curvy divas ?  Several years ago, I purchased a pair of slide sandals/slippers at TJ Maxx.  They were the most comfortable pair ever!  What was great about them was they were passable as "nice" footwear when I didn't want to wear shoes; bye bye flip flops!  I wore the heck out of them! Recently, I found another pair, this time, a thong sandal/slipper, and with a heel!  Born Concept slippers were the most comfortable footwear I've worn, and these are no exception!   Especially since I have this problem with my heel that I've developed from running (which is why I've not gone back to it yet), and these slippers have been such a great help with my Achilles heel since I found them at Burlington !   I no longer feel the discomfort I have been feeling, plus they support my low arch!!!! What??!!!! Amazing!  Priced at only $19.99 on sale...these are a steal! The bottom...... You can also go to their
