Fashion Week in New York

The Fashionistas in New York are gearing up for another big fashion-week of events in their world!  Twitter is chirping with news about the upcoming New York Fashion Week curvy divas!  There are big give-a-ways going on, #allaccesskors, #sephoragiveaway~!  All out media online, and print access with news even before the events begin; fabsugar.com, refinery29.com and W Magazine, to name a few!

I've not even ventured over to some of the popular fashion blogs to see their take yet!  Ooh la la!  But I'm going to take my seat front and center, from anywhere I sit....watching fashion reviews on FashionTV on You Tube!  

Don't forget London's Fashion Week will be next week as well!  So much to see! I'm keeping my eyes peeled for fashion for us too!

As you know from my last article , I went shopping for swimsuit with my teen Mandi and ended up doing the same for myself. After all, I was in need of a new bathing suit. My last purchase for one was from Target eight years ago! And also during that time, I was the lucky recipient of two new suits from my BSFFL (Best Sister Friend For Life) who visited from Europe! So Those have lasted quite a long time!

A Re-post: Red Carpet Reviews - 2013 American Music Awards

Another post of mine that was a write up for Orlando Fashion Week Magazine.  It was published there previously.  If you missed it, I'm sharing it again here on my blog for the first time, with some edits for relevance of course curvy divas. A writer's work is never done! Let me know which celebrity wore your favorite style! Did you watch last year's AMAs? Me too!  It was one of the best with my favorite Mr. Worldwide, Pitbull as host.  Did you catch the fashion that walked the red carpet?  No? Well, pull up a chair and I'll fill you in. At the 2012 award show, Christina Aguilera was beautiful in all her curvyness in a Pamella Roland dress, unfortunately, she went overboard on the suntan lotion.  Last year, she showed off a much leaner physique in a white Maria Lucia Hohan cut-out dress with a high split on the side.  Her shoes were Christian Louboutin peep-toe and I loved her pave jewelry. How to Wear Glitter in the Daytime

Have you ever worn sequin aka glitter?  It is pretty much a trend in fashion these days.  Glitter is worn mostly at nights and for real special and dressier occasions. But not so today curvy divas. Glitter can also be worn during the day!  I've worn glitter during the day time before and I try to make it look as understated as possible!  You don't need too much accessories when you wear glitter.  It is pretty much how you put your outfit together! On Elle.com Amanda Fitzsimons interviewed designer Marissa Webb who is known for using sequins during the daytime!  Amanda wanted to know if this look (daytime glitter) can really work? Marissa said it definitely can and thinks it is in how shine the sequinned (or glittered) garment that choose to wear is. It is not just in the size of the beadings at all! I tend to agree with her.   I don't think a really shiny sequinned garment on its own, would work for daytime. That would definitely be overkill! ...
