Makeup: Lipstick as Concealer

The beauty product that I use the most is a concealer because of the dark circles under my eyes. When I have had a good night's rest, work out regularly and my eating habits focuses on the healthier side, there are no dark circles to worry about. Unfortunately, 90% of the time, I can't do that as often as I would like. Because as a mom, wife, full-time employee and everything else in between, life happens!   I usually use a regular under eye concealer, natural or sometimes dark beige.  The concealer doesn't always give a smooth finish, because it shows up, or doesn't give good coverage if I don't use a lot, and most times by the end of the day, it's gone, along with most of my makeup, because I wear light makeup when I go to work.   Good news!  I've found an even better way to cover those dark circles. By using red or pink lipstick, blending well, then applying loose powder, the dark circles disappear!  What?  Yes, it works, and that's the new makeup...

These Boots Were Made for Walking.....Rewind!

I saw these snake skin boots on a board on Pinterest and immediately fell in love! They are in red and with heels!! I'm liking the stillettos.  But we've seen a similar pair of boots before haven't we curvy divas? You haven't? You don't remember? Well, on me of course! I have a pair that is very similar except my heels are stacked!   Mine are from so long ago they are now what I call, vintage ! It's great that fashion gets recycled and looks even better than before! I'm adding this new style to my want list! How about you? Gucci 2014 This is my vintage pair made by Rouge Medium. My 8 Style Resolutions for 2014

Image from simplybe.co.uk/blog / - Their LFW highlights! (LOVE) Happy New Year curvy divas!  It's 2014 and many people are making resolutions.   Are you making any?  If so, what are they?   I do have several plans in mind, some of them fashion-related.  Before I share, I have a question for you.   Have you thought about making any changes to your looks, or your style in general?  I won't make anymore drastic changes as I did with my hair color last year (which wasn't even on my radar!). I do have some "Style Resolutions" for 2014. Here's my list: 1) There are three items of clothing in my closet, brand new that I have yet to wear. [I bought two of them four years ago, and one last summer], while I was on my fitness quest (which I still am on by the way) and although I did finally fit into two of them, I never wore them anywhere.   My goal this year is to wear at least one of those items this year. 2) I love to shop. While there...

Look of the Day

When you see something that "jumps" out at you when you're shopping curvy divas , do you purchase it?   Or do you try it on, think about it and then go back to get it?  I have to get it!  Once I take it off the rack, try it on in the fitting room and it "speaks" to me....well, it's a must have! My recent post, "Love or Leave It?" about that pink and white Jennifer Lopez color block dress... I didn't leave it and I do LOVE it!  I decided that I would wear it to Christmas dinner at my oldest daughter's house.   I just didn't know what to pair it with because not only was it cold in Orlando that day , it has a white top, supposed I spilled something on it; and I'm not feeling particularly "thin" at the moment, so I didn't want to have a "puffy" look in the dress! You know what I'm talking about curvy divas! You want to look good, but you don't want to look too chunky! (and let me not have to say tha...

27 Haircuts to try this November

I was reading this article The 27 Best Haircut to Try in Novembe r on glamour.com and thought I would share with you curvy divas! Do you feel like you are in a rut?  Maybe you've been thinking of a makeover?  Well, why not start with your hair!  I loved these ideas suggested by Glamour! As a natural hair diva myself, I'm always fascinated by other divas with natural hair. I want to know how they care for their hair, how they wear their hair and what styles they wear!  Here are a few: This is a natural hair with bangs. They suggest cutting the bangs at an angle so they just fall into place! A great idea! Photo: Mark Leibowitz The Pixie cut on what looks like relaxed hair (but could be used on natural hair as well)! Photo: Mark Leibowitz I love this look!  It suits her face so well too! It's great when you have a great hairstylist who knows how to cut your hair to flatter your face! Another Pixie cut!
