Glitterati

ASOS Pump It Up glitter  heels! I read the August issue of Lucky Magazine and saw that they featured shoes, handbags, & other accessories that were sparkly & glittery and I loved it!   Being a curvy diva , I love having fun with my fashion and wearing a little sparkle now and then is my thing! I have a silver lame' tunic that I wear with jeans, or anything else! I have earrings and bracelets that sparkles but haven't yet added shoes or pants to my wardrobe! Before writing about this on-going trend, I was trying to figure out what title to name this write up and came up with "Glitterati" . Well, guess what Lucky Magazine called their feature.....yep, Glitterati! Great minds! Here are some beautiful glitter accessories that I'm loving - found on the Intraweb! I recently pinned the following looks that I really like unto my Pinterest Accessorize Me board . They're scarves designed from T-shirts , how creative!  Scarves are the ultimate accessories that goes with most looks, and especially with the cooler Season coming up, this is the perfect do-it-your-selfer! Fab Fall Looks

Soon our love affair with the sun will be over and so will our flirty way of dressing for it!  As the days begin to get cooler we will want to cover up and wear more clothing. Chadwicks is one of the places I love to shop  from and their clothing is not only affordable, they are of great quality! I visited their online site and here are some looks I love to transition into the colder weather. I would definitely wear this pink cardigan with a bold accessory to amp it up a bit! Love the model's look! Edgy Fashionista!

You know what I'm tired of curvy divas ?  I'm tired of Society telling me what I can and cannot wear . I'm sick of seeing models who should be plus sized and they're not, modeling clothes that is supposed to fit a curvy woman! How am I going to tell how that clothing really looks on my curvy behind if the model who is showing it has none?   I'm also tired of not finding really stylish clothing in curvy diva sizes!!!  That's the three I'll list for now and I'll stop right there! I like to dress with not just style but with a bit of a "pop" thrown in too.  That means I love to accessorize , and they don't usually match.   I love to color coordinate but not in a "matchy-matchy" type of way.  I love to dress up , most of the times.  As someone commented to me recently, "I guess you dress according to your moods". Yes I do and there's nothing wrong with that! I was looking around on the Intraweb at the different

Leggings

I love leggings and   despite what the other folks out there in the sizes 0 - 12 world may think and they always opine, there's nothing wrong with a curvy diva in leggings!  It's always been a cringe worthy moment when I hear comments like "women that size shouldn't wear leggings" or "leggings are not pants and should not be worn by themselves"! While I agree somewhat with the latter quote, I do say "yes" we can wear leggings! Personally, I prefer to wear leggings with tunics or with dresses that are shorter.  I am more comfortable wearing them with leggings.  What I do not like seeing curvy divas, is a woman in leggings paired with short, tight tee-shirt.  Most time the leggings are too thin and there will be a glimpse of butt crack! Seriously, stop that!  It is always good to look in the mirror at your backside before you jaunt off on your adventure.  Be sure to look at yourself in outside lighting (standing by a window), not just wh

Plus Size Hair Salons?

When I saw the above loosely titled from the article I read on allure.com , my interest was peaked!   A hair salon for plus sized women?  Say what now? I wondered to myself!  I'm not sure how I feel about this?  I can understand going to the gym , as the author of the article mentioned, feeling weird being amongst the svelte, skinny-types and feel as if you're a lamb going to slaughter (at least in my head), and being more comfortable in a gym with women of my size, but at a hair salon? Hmmm, trying to visualize.. walk with me curvy divas ....walking into said plus sized hair salon and either you're the only one there, or there are only women size 14 and up there. While there's nothing aesthetically wrong with that picture, because we love our curvy divas, however, would that make you comfortable?  Personally, when I go to a hair salon, I want to see what the stylists are doing with other people's hair, I'm not too worried about what body type the customers

Simplicity

One of the things that makes an outfit great is when it looks simple but still screams style! We all want to look good in whatever we wear. We don't want to look fat, or look as if we are trying too hard, and we especially don't want to be uncomfortable in our own clothing! Agreed curvy divas ?!   I love Pinterest ( pinterest.com ) and one of the people I follow, Cassidy Blackwell from Natural Selection Blog , pinned the most gorgeous look for an outfit that I really loved!  The color catches your eye first, then the style, then just how simple but stylish the wearer looks in her clothing!  Take a looksee and let me know what you think! http://blackandkillingit.com/post/23236710622/black-girls-killing-it-shop-bgki-now Repinned from  // le style //  by  Cassidy Blackwell {naturalselectionblog.com} Originally pinned by  Neil Alvin  onto  Black Girls Killing It . It is noted that this is a DIY outfit, in other words, do it yourself!   I haven't sewn

What the world sees

When it comes to us curvy divas , you know the world is looking at you wherever you go. Am I right, or am I right?  What, they don't do that to you?  Hmmm, that means you might need to amp it up a bit so that you can be remembered wherever you go! What is the first thing that someone will notice about you when they meet you?  No, besides that gorgeous outfit that you're rocking!  The next thing they will remember is not whether you have fresh breath or not, it is how beautiful your skin is!  At any age, having great skin is one of the best thing any of us can do for ourselves.  The one thing I've always read is that if they do nothing else, most people will spend money, lots of it, on their skin!   Guess where I was on Saturday morning?  At a hotel attending a Mary Kay event!  My daughters, Jessica and Amanda and I went over to the Holiday Inn Express in our neck of the woods where Jessica was invited to a morning of pampering by the gorgeous ladies of Mary Kay C

Why you should love who you are!

We've heard it said time again, being thin is beautiful, being fat is not! What?! In the real world, being on the extreme side of either of these ideals can be dangerous for our health!  You can be a skinny girl walking around and unhealthy and you don't even know it!  The largest sized person could be more healthier than a smaller person, they just have more flesh on their body! I know a lot of people will disagree with me, but do notice that I said, "could be more healthier"!  It just depends on the individual and what they do to take care of themselves.  Do they exercise?  Do they eat healthy?  Do they do anything to enhance their own physical being?  We won't know unless they tell us!  I realize that not all of us will be healthy, but so many of us are trying to be, and some of us are making it happen!  With proper care of yourself, you can each be healthy and well, and live the lifestyle of your dreams!  I tell you what curvy divas , whenever I see a cu

The Best Hair Color for You

You choose your outfit with care, down to the shoes you wear for that particular look.  You put your makeup on, and now it's time for your hair.....why is it not looking its best?  Everything that you do in trying to style it, is just so wrong!  You're ready to scream or pull your hair out!!!! Have you ever had a bad hair day?  I know I have, more than once!  Usually, if I'm lucky, I'll have time to wear a hat, a wig or pin my hair in a way to make it work!  It doesn't matter who you are, for every woman, if your hair isn't at its best, you will not be too ! When you have your hair, as some might say "did" or "done" you know you will be at your fabulously curvy best !  One of the  things I like to do is color my hair. Yes, it's chemical, so I guess I'm not totally au naturel!  You can try a rinse, which is a way to temporarily color your hair with a new look, or you can use a permanent color and rock your hair the way you want!
