Makeup: Lipstick as Concealer

The beauty product that I use the most is a concealer because of the dark circles under my eyes. When I have had a good night's rest, work out regularly and my eating habits focuses on the healthier side, there are no dark circles to worry about. Unfortunately, 90% of the time, I can't do that as often as I would like. Because as a mom, wife, full-time employee and everything else in between, life happens!   I usually use a regular under eye concealer, natural or sometimes dark beige.  The concealer doesn't always give a smooth finish, because it shows up, or doesn't give good coverage if I don't use a lot, and most times by the end of the day, it's gone, along with most of my makeup, because I wear light makeup when I go to work.   Good news!  I've found an even better way to cover those dark circles. By using red or pink lipstick, blending well, then applying loose powder, the dark circles disappear!  What?  Yes, it works, and that's the new makeup...

Just find the right pair that fits your body. High waisted jeans gives ...

How to Pamper Your Skin

One of the things that my mother always told me to do was to take care of my skin.  It is a ritual I began in my late teens, especially because of one of my besties, Tina.   We would spend hours doing the skin and hair rituals, beautifying ourselves. I have never forgotten that curvy divas, nor my mom's advice and it is one of the advice that I hope I have taught to my own children. I do try to take care of my skin as often as I can. You know how it goes though curvy divas, you get busy with life and living, and you forget take your make up off before going to sleep (oh the horrors) and sometimes you even forget to throw out old make up! Yep, a crime I have corrected recently. ~Whew~ Because I haven't had the time for a full routine of a do-it-yourself facial lately, I decided to give myself a quickie.  What is a quickie facial you wonder?   I did a very quick mix using my favorite ingredients: oats, lime juice, honey, and water; I then mixed the com...

That said, I own about six pairs...maybe more!lol! This is the full look that day, worn with jean jacket and a colorful scar...

Selfie: The Art of Taking Selfshots

I often have to take my own photographs when I want to post pictures of myself on my blogs as I do on my "My Looks" page. I do get help sometimes from my hubby, or my youngest, Amanda.  Lately, she has become my little videographer for a future project I'm working on.  But for the most part when I want a photograph of myself, it's a "selfie" shot 95% of the time. I'm happy when the pictures come out great and I look amazing.   Sometimes however, they are not so great, especially when it's a headless shot, or one that I don't particularly like.  I do try to take a good picture after all, we all can't be Hallie Berry.   I read an article on iVillage.com, entitled "How to take better pictures, and be More Photogenic" that I wanted to share with you curvy divas. As Madonna said in one of her songs, "Strike a pose" - according to the article, this is what you should be doing, you should practice your pose .  Do  practi...
