Show Me Your Closet

Well curvy divas , for some of you with children, it is that time of the year again, when Summer ends, and a new school year begins!  It's back to school time, and what comes to mind? Well, back to school fashion of course!  For weeks my daughter Amanda had been hinting to me that she wants everything, EVERYTHING new for her return to school, and that means making a really good impression on the first day!   Although my plans were to do combination shopping to keep us within a certain budget, I knew we also had to visit Plato's Closet!  She kept showing me photos her friends sent to her of their own shopping trips and what they will be wearing for the school year. Hmmm, being the budget-prepared mommy that I am, guess who wasn't fully prepared for this year's journey?  Me! Yep, me!  But thank heavens, just in time, we were able to go off to our favorite place, Fashion Square Mall and did just what she wanted! Her one and only stop at the mall?  JC...

Recently Amanda and I went shopping for more skinny jeans.  We stopped at JC Penney because they had a great sale going on.  Somehow, we tend to gravitate towards blue, even though lately she's been into pink!  I love that the colors were so bright too! I dislike that the pants were so tight, but I guess I should accept this since it is "skinny jeans", right curvy divas ?!  I do like looking good in what I wear, add to that looking stylish, and wearing clothing that doesn't make me look twice my size, or too young (as if I'm trying too hard)... and I'm all good! We tried on several pairs of jeans, and added some skirts too.  Both of us were not too keen on anything we tried on that day.  I decided to leave it ,  with plans to "visit" again, after all, we are really loving Penney's new look & styles!    

I guess by now you have received their new catalogues, with the amazing prices that makes you go, "How is that possible?"   Or you look at each of the clothes inside and "ohhed" and "awwwed" at the stylish coolness of their new looks? Who am I talking about? Why JC Penney of course, now fashionably called JCP!! They have definitely come full-circle, re-inventing themselves with a new look, introducing themselves to an entirely new audience!  My 11 year old being one of them!  We did a Mall crawl this past weekend and out of curiosity, we decided to stop in to window-shop at JCP to see if what they showed in their catalogue, is really what is going on? Well curvy divas , it is!! They have clothing that are so clean and simple, yet so stylish!   The colors remind me of candy and bubble gums and those hazy days of Summer and Spring combined!   I even remarked that the looks brought me back to my childhood when the clothing was simple but stylishly nice! ...
