Breaking Fashion News - Domino Dollhouse - Pagan Poetry Collection

I had to take a moment from my self-imposed mini-break to share this breaking fashion news my curvy divas.   Domino Dollhouse has a new fashion line up that has already dropped at their online store (since March 25, 2014).   I love Tracy Broxterman's designs  because her edgy styles allow us curvy divas to boldly  embrace our inner-rocker-chic and  not too many designers do this. The Pagan Poetry Collection is being introduced in two parts.   Silent Shout Dress The first part will feature five key pieces from the collection which you can pre-order now.  OMG, that dress screams sexy!!! The leggings below.....love the look! She's in Parties Leggings Why should you pre-order? well, that way you are guaranteed what you choose the minute their line comes in.     There's nothing worse than finding something you love, ready to purchase only to see the words "sold out". Noooooooooo!~  Slowdive Dress Part 2 of the collection wil

Me 'n My 'Fro ~ How I care my natural hair

Another protective style There are just certain times when you have to "stay low"   curvy divas   (to coin a phrase) in order to take care of (or protect) something. Most times that something might be an individual; or your health; or even a body part (for the athletically inclined); or anything else of value to you personally! In fact dear readers,  for some women, their hair will be listed among their valuables. Our hair is what we consider a part of our beauty so why not?!   This is why once in a while, or as often as I do make the time to, I will do what some black women do with their hair,  put it in a twist.   This is when you take a section of your hair, separate it into two strands, and wrap it together (like a braid).   Twisting my hair gives it a break from always combing or brushing it; and my hair is also not left out to the elements, sun, wind, and other weather-related happenings that may cause damage to my hair. Me 'n My Fro in the Twists I did m

The Best Jeans for Your Body Type

My blue skinny jeans from Kohl's Apt. 9 Do you like to wear denim curvy diva?  I don't mind wearing denim, but for me it is not my go-to item to wear. However, when I do where my denim, it's because I'm in the mood to, and it's especially when I'm feeling toned and confident. This is a look I wore to the office, dark blue jeans from Old Navy Denims are a great item to have in your closet no matter what, and every girl should own at least two pairs . Why at least two pairs? Well my dear curvy divas, one pair for dolling up and going out on the town, or to wear to the office;  which means it should be a dark color , whether dark navy blue or black; and the second pair for fun, and casual wear , and you won't mind sitting in the grass for a picnic, which can be a light blue; stone-washed, or any other shade in-between ! That said, I own about six pairs...maybe more!lol! This is the full look that day, worn with jean jacket and a colorful scar

Me 'n My 'Fro: Length Check - My hair is growing

I blew out my hair and gave it a few presses with the flat iron recently curvy divas , just lightly, not too intensely straight and you know what I noticed?   My hair has grown! Yes it has.  It is now below my neck, resting on my back, just so!  Here are a few selfie pics: One of my throw-back photos of my hair in transition, and not yet red . As my hair grew, the curls become more defined - in a dark red/auburn color My hair after a blow-out a few weeks ago My 'Fro after a blow-out and some straightening a few days ago (pinned into a pony tail style)   It is good to see my hair growing. I am not planning to get a hair cut just yet. I want to see how long it will grow. I will get a trim though....and I mean my ends trimmed, not a cut as these hair stylist like to do, so I may end up doing it myself!   A salon visit is planned for this year though, it's on my style resolution list after all! How is your hair health curvy divas ?  Do you plan on get

What is True Plus Size?

You would think that by now, all of these retailers, designers and even so many of the fashion people "out there" would know what true plus size is.  It is NOT a size 8 or even a size 10.   It is definitely NOT a size 12, although many designers, retailers, and even some bloggers, declare a size 12 a plus size?  What?!  No way! A size 12 might be larger than a size 6,8, & 10, but a size 12 is regular size, read again, r-e-g-u-l-a-r s-i-z-e!!!! Please stop saying plus size begins at a size 12 because it does not.   Maternity clothing are for pregnant women, not women who happen to have a little fat around their tummy, or a bigger waistline!  Quit doing that, and you know who you are retailers! Aren't you just over these ridiculousness curvy divas?   I know I am!  Wouldn't you think that by now, these retailers would have their act together, but no, they don't.   According to a Motley Fool article penned by Leo Sun on fool.com, the very same retailers who m

Manstyle: Tuxedos at the Oscars

The 86th Academy Awards aka The Oscars , also popularly trended on Twitter as Oscars2014 and other aliases, hosted by one of my favorite entertainer, Ellen DeGeneres, has fast become one of my favorite award shows so far this year. Did you watch curvy divas?  I even watched the stars appearances on the Red Carpet before the show.   While everyone will be focusing on who wore the best gown, my focus is who wore the best tuxedo! Let me preface that in searching for the perfect photos of these gorgeous men in tuxedos, I found two blogs with the same focus , featuring the stylish well-dressed men from the Oscars (you know what they say about great minds....)!  The first blogger's name is Marco Paulo Silva and his blog Royal Fashionist, and the second, celebrity gossip blog, The YBF.  All in all the men on the red carpet turned out in their finest and were on par with the women on Oscar night . Without further ado, here are a few good men and the looks they wore: The men who wor
