You would think that by now, all of these retailers, designers and even so many of the fashion people "out there" would know what true plus size is. It is NOT a size 8 or even a size 10. It is definitely NOT a size 12, although many designers, retailers, and even some bloggers, declare a size 12 a plus size? What?! No way!
A size 12 might be larger than a size 6,8, & 10, but a size 12 is regular size, read again, r-e-g-u-l-a-r s-i-z-e!!!! Please stop saying plus size begins at a size 12 because it does not. Maternity clothing are for pregnant women, not women who happen to have a little fat around their tummy, or a bigger waistline! Quit doing that, and you know who you are retailers!
Aren't you just over these ridiculousness curvy divas? I know I am! Wouldn't you think that by now, these retailers would have their act together, but no, they don't. According to a Motley Fool article penned by Leo Sun on fool.com, the very same retailers who messed up in the past, confusing not only clothing sizes for larger women, but also designating plus size clothing as pregnancy clothing. We get no respect!
While there's nothing wrong with a woman who is pregnant who wants to wear a certain look from a plus size clothing line, instead of maternity clothing; nor is there anything wrong with a woman who is a plus size choosing to wear a stylish cut blouse from a maternity fashion line; at least, it is their individual choices to make. And they don't go around claiming to be one or the other.
In Leo Sun's article, H&M, Target, & Mango retailers are once again creating fiasco because of not knowing the differences between being medium sized, plus sized or pregnant...really? I think we should take away their fashion passes and throw away their retail keys. Don't you?
H&M and Mango are re-creating the women's sizes charts again, because to them, a medium size is a plus size? As for Target, this time they are dressing their pregnant models in plus sized clothing and calling it maternity wear! ~shakes my head~
Wow, when did a size 8 become plus size? Obliviously their bottom-lines (pockets) aren't hurt, these retailers still make millions; otherwise they would not keep making the same mistakes. To me, it is adding insult to what they have already done in the past! We should speak out and make our voices heard, this needs to stop! Let's urge them to get their acts together and respect women of size because we do matter.
