Happy Blogoversary Fabulously Curvy - Year Three!

~Happy Blogoversary, Happy Blogoversary, Happy Blogoversary, Hhaaaaapppppy Blog-o-ver-sa-ry!~

Wow curvy divas, it is that time again, we commemorate the date Fabulously Curvy blog began.  We wrote an article in 2013 for our First Year Blogversary, but I don't remember why I didn't do one for year two?!  However, that's in the past and we are moving forward with excitement and looking forward to what is to come for us. Happy Birthday Fabulously Curvy! First article published on May 30, 2012.

In 2014 we covered happenings such as: Alexander Wang's first  collab with H&M; and National Handbag Day.  We covered events such as: going backstage for Orlando International Fashion Week, covering their casting call; and announcing the launch of Beyond the Curves First Showcase here in Orlando.  We shared curvy news such as the launch of Domino Dollhouse's new fashion line, Science Vision Collection, and did our first Vlog "How To", showing you "How to Cuff Your Jeans".  We were nominated for the "Very Inspiring Blogging Award".  And last but certainly not least, I wore swimwear as outerwear!

Although our genre, Plus Size, has come a long way in the Fashion Industry and is making improvements, growing and being accepted in leaps and bounds, 2014 found us questioning ourselves because of what others who were regular size but identified themselves to be plus size, had us going "Uh"?  "Were they really"? The Australian model whose news made a big splash, and we shook our heads and wondered what is the true plus size.

We had fun celebrity moments sharing fashionably clad celebrities at the Emmy's & the Golden Globes, We showcased male celebrities fashionable moments (yes, they do have them too) in what we love to call "Manstyle" at the Oscars, We also showcased fashionably clad men in trendy looks such as Meggings. We continue to share information about sustainability in clothing design as we did when H&M launched their "Go Green" campaign with Conscious Denim.

In trying to find that look that appeals to our aesthetics, our blog continues to improve in the direction that will have us feeling fashionably content. We also created a Facebook Fan page, Fabulously Curvy Blog and you can find us on Pinterest.  Last year by way of our main PIC, Person in Charge, Donna Foreverserenity, we had our first Blogger's Meet Up Hub online.

Well, it has certainly been quite a busy year for us wouldn't you agree?  And that's only  a pinch of what we have covered last year! We haven't even touched the surface about all of the curvy looks, love it or leave it, and oh those celebrity faux paux!  Bet we will have fun doing this again for next year!  What do you think?

Thank you so much for reading with us, sharing our work, and for being our fans.  In looking forward to goals and the future, you will often see "We" it is not a form of misleading it's a form of putting out to the Universe our dreams. I thank you again curvy divas and gents who love us.

A Re-post: Red Carpet Reviews - 2013 American Music Awards

Another post of mine that was a write up for Orlando Fashion Week Magazine.  It was published there previously.  If you missed it, I'm sharing it again here on my blog for the first time, with some edits for relevance of course curvy divas. A writer's work is never done! Let me know which celebrity wore your favorite style! Did you watch last year's AMAs? Me too!  It was one of the best with my favorite Mr. Worldwide, Pitbull as host.  Did you catch the fashion that walked the red carpet?  No? Well, pull up a chair and I'll fill you in. At the 2012 award show, Christina Aguilera was beautiful in all her curvyness in a Pamella Roland dress, unfortunately, she went overboard on the suntan lotion.  Last year, she showed off a much leaner physique in a white Maria Lucia Hohan cut-out dress with a high split on the side.  Her shoes were Christian Louboutin peep-toe and I loved her pave jewelry. Hair Trends: Rainbow Colored Hair

I've got a new obsession. Yes, a new one, rainbow colored hair.  I am fascinated by the women who are bold enough to do this look. I did my own bold look two summers ago when I went a very daring red.   I am actually antsy and really want to try pink and blue and green...need I say more? LOL!  Because I have to keep my looks under wraps (at least for the next couple of months) so that I don't scare the very conservative people I work with.  I cannot be really "loud" with my hair.  In my heart I am a child of adventure and do not let others bother me but I must admit there are times when "they" will suppress my spirit. These days though I'm happy to say that I'm learning to live in the moments and I am again learning to let me be me. So yes, I will find a way to try new colors and I do like rainbow colors! How exciting. What I do like about rainbow colors are that there are some that are really LOUD , and others that make a statement without be...

Does Sustainable Fashion have a Future?

Being environmentally conscious is something I am learning to do and it is fast becoming a favorite topic of mine curvy divas . I believe that as time changes we are all learning to not just be aware of our environment but to act to protect it as well! We have to change our attitudes and behavior in our lifestyle so as to consciously help ourselves. Last month H&M along with Vogue put together a panel of fashionably conscious people participated in a live discussion held at The New School for Design at Parson's, about "How can we create a more sustainable fashion future".   Once again I turned to one of my favorite online fashion source, Refinery29  where writer Glynnis Mapp shared more about this outstanding event!  The panel discussed ways we as consumers could practice sustainability in fashion, and also how the government could be involved. There was suggestion of a "by the pound incentive program for consumers..." and where "points" could...
