Dressing for your Body Type

You know curvy divas , one important thing that we each should know is how to dress for our body type , that is, for YOUR specific body type.  I read an article on how to do this the right way!  We want to look good when we dress, correct? We want to feel good about how we look because it boosts our confidence and self-esteem! Shape Magazine's website on shape.com,  shared some great tips on how to dress and look fabulous for different body types!   "   Layer different lengths of solid colored tanks under long sleeve shirts or sweaters   to elongate your silhouette."    I've always loved to layer my clothing. Not just because I live in a cold climate, because I don't!lol!  Not just because my office is freezing cold, because it is - everyday!  But because there are times when you do need to layer, for any of the two reasons I mentioned first, and because sometimes the clothing you wear might require it, for example, if you're wearing a very sheer top.

Makeup Mistakes to Avoid

If you're like me curvy divas , you like to look nice when you're going anywhere.  One of the things that I love to do to accentuate my looks is to wear makeup .  I wear makeup almost everyday, especially when I'm going to work. I have to look my best.  Believe me, there are times when I'm grateful to have a little powder and foundation to make my eyes look less puffy, less sunken because I can accentuate them to make me look even more beautiful than I already am, don't you?! Not only can you dress to make yourself look less dated, the makeup you wear can make you look years younger , if you know the tricks to use!  I read an article from Oprah.com by way of Shine.Yahoo.com/makeup , on some of the mistakes that women make with their makeup that makes them look even older than they are. I mentioned foundation earlier. Well wearing too much foundation can make you look way older than you are! If you use it too heavily, and if you don't blend well, you will h

You should wear - Sunglasses Trend

Although the Summer will soon be officially over curvy divas ; yep, despite the fact that we are still experiencing sunshine and heat...Summer is over - at least, technically!  However, although we will be experiencing cooler weather soon, it's still good to wear sunglasses during the winter months . You do have to protect your eyes from the sun even during the Winter season! I wear sunglasses, whenever I'm not wearing my required specs (reading/driving glasses)!  Wearing sunglasses helps me to see better when I'm outside and stops the wind from blowing into my eyes, which happens quite often and so I squint and guess what happens if I keep squinting like that?  Yep, crows feet!  I might be aging, but I want to do it gracefully thank you very much!  I also wear my sunglasses to protect my eyes from the allergen that are in the air, so there are good reasons to protect your baby blues and browns ! I've been looking at what are the top trend in sunglasses for Fal

The Leather Trend

I've heard nothing but talk about leather for this Fall season . It's included in many a designers looks on the Runway recently, and it pops in several magazines as well! How would you wear leather curvy divas ?  Would you dress it up, or down?  Accessorize, or not?  It's not the most functional material to wear, if it's not made well. And it can be the most stylish if you put your outfit together in a very chic way! Here are some leather looks I liked enough  to pin on my Pinterest board : Ralph Rucci from Nina Garcia's pinterest board (WWD Mag photo) I see myself in this look, with heels to carry off the length of the skirt. The boots, to party though, not work! Chloe Quilted Leather Skirt from Bergdorf Goodmanfrom Elle.com fashion trend This skirt, beautiful and I would wear it with a jacket for work, or a sheer blouse to party! Did you know that Fashion's Night Out (FNO) happened all over the World last week curvy divas ?  It did!   Fashion's Night Out originated in 2009 because of the hard economic times being experienced not just by the retailers in the fashion industry, but by many consumers as well!   The first events held in New York at that time was done to encourage people to shop thereby increasing sales for retailers and the fashion industry .  One of FNO's biggest sponsor is a favorite magazine of mine, Vogue !  In New York, Fashion's Night Out culminates with New York's Fall Fashion Week!
