Curvy Trends: Even Bey does Temporary Jewelry Tattoos

If you haven't began to wear them yet curvy divas, you should.  Jewelry tattoos are becoming quite the rage!  I shared Elle Magazine's write up about it some time ago here on the blog. I also did a live vlog showing you how to apply it .

Leggings Week: Wearing Leggings Doesn't Mean You've given up on Fashion

According to Rachel Zoe, who also loves that Leggings are a pants alternative , she wrote "Wearing Leggings doesn't mean you've given up on fashion".  I love that statement and I dived in whole heartedly to read her featured article on the Zoe Report .   "You Can Wear Leggings, and Still Look Polished" . Rachel's article was written when the weather was a  lot cooler. Though her ideas to use layers and loads of accessories, "Cozy layers and bold accessories", is so on pointe!   Great minds! :)

Leggings Week: How to get a Professional Look in Leggings.

Some people believe that we should never use leggings to replace pants.   I agree.  However, I think that a lot of women confuses tights with leggings. Tights should always be worn under your clothing. Leggings is outer wear.  Take a look at the outfit below. Although I am wearing leggings, I have layered it.  Have you ever had one of those moments when you just don't want to look fat in what you plan on wearing?  I chose this combination outfit for that reason, and for the comfort and style.  I chose  the T-Shirt dress from H&M . I also layered a blue stretchy tank underneath for modesty's sake. The leggings are S.O. brand from Kohl's .

Love it or Leave it: The Kimono

I have seen so many bloggers write about kimonos lately, it's fast becoming one of the favorite fashion trends.   I have Seen so many types of kimonos and so far I am loving this trend. I do love a great cover up and find having those types of clothing in my closet a good thing. Much like a jacket  or cardigan, I doubt you can go wrong.

Curvy Trends: Denim - What to Buy, Keep & Try in 2015

As we continue into 2015  curvy divas, the fashion trends continue to have us scrambling watching for what's next, and what we will actually be trying and adding to our closets.  I'm going to be honest with you, denim was never a popular clothing choice for me when I could finally make my own fashion choices as a young woman. Unlike my friends, being on the other end of the curvy spectrum meant being the center of attention, not what I appreciated back in the day. As a grown up, when it comes to denim, I'm loving it a lot more and I've shown you how to cuff them, tell you what you might wear with them, and now I'm doing you one even better.  As I continue to follow the fashion trends, looking at what's in, new and continue to be popular, using Glamour Magazine's Leah Melby's article as inspiration for the latest on the denim trend. Jeans to buy: Vintage; ripped and torn . Why? Because they're in again.  I'm actually seeing more ripped jea...

Trend Watch: Graphic Tees (Redux)

Last Year I wrote an article about graphic print tees , showing the many ways you can wear them (article linked below).  I see that it is pretty much a trend that never goes out of style and keeps on being popular! Here are several looks worn by myself or my daughter Amanda & one of her BFF's! This look with a statement earrings instead of a statement necklace .   Amanda's BFF Chasety wearing a cute tee! I loved the ideas I shared in my article linked here .  One of my favorite style look is  wearing graphic tee with a statement necklace ! Amanda in one her favorites! Pretty much the most popular way to wear a graphic tee is with your favorite pair of jeans ,  be it pants or shorts. But you can wear them with skirt....or anything else for that matter.   Accessories are optional when you wear a graphic tee , and it is OK to dress them up!

How To Put on and Wear Fake Eyelashes

I've always wanted to wear fake eye lashes , after all, I see so many women on the big and small screen, and now so often in real life, do wear them.   Some that are naturally looking do make the wearer look really pretty.  I purchased a pair and the adhesive to hold them; but didn't wear them right away.  They have been sitting in my makeup box for quite a few months.   Then I decided to try them.  It was the weekend, and I was not in the mood to dress up because I had a cold.   However, I decided wearing those lashes would be great to enhance my looks.   That shouldn't be a problem, right?  After putting on some make up, I realized that putting the lashes on was easier said than done.   I couldn't line them up right.  They kept falling off and I was so afraid to stick myself in the eye!  One of them was so much better than the other, one fitted great, the other, not so much !           ...

The Coats Trend: Tacky & Loving it

I saw this coat by the designer Chloe` on Vogue.com earlier and immediately loved it!  The look is not exactly conservative, nor is it a style most women would wear.  I do love the "wild factor" of the styling because it seems to be too large, and has too much going on ! However, for me this unconventionally styled coat is a look I would definitely wear. Just imagine how warm it will be during these oh so cold wintry months curvy divas. While it may not be that cold here where I am, it does get to 36 degrees sometimes!  Plus who knows when my next trip up North will be. It's definitely on my "If only I could" want list! Coat by Chloe` as seen on Vogue.com Photo by Chloe` You may already have noticed a new page I added to my blog, Coats & More? Check it out here ! I also have a Pinterest board...I know, what's with me and coats? Well, I have always loved them, so why not feature them more!  http://www.pinterest.com/foreverserenity/coats-and-m...

Trend alert: White bags

You're not thinking about this right now curvy divas because you're probably frozen-in somewhere with no where to go. But think about this, you in your best spring or summer outfit, and the best looking white handbag out there that will make you strut, not walk! Can you visualize that image yet?   Hmmm, I can. And if you can't, lets get you out of the doldrums and forget about the icicles forming around you.  Here are some tips I wanted to share on how you should be wearing your white handbags in the seasons to come. When wearing your white bag the best fabric to wear are knits, nylons, and satin.  Do you know why?   The dye from other types of material can rub off on your bag , and there's nothing like spoiling your best pocketbook* and not being able to clean that navy ink off. It's also better to wear any other color shoes but white when you wear a white handbag. I've seen a few people do this. While there's nothing wrong, other than perh...

Want: Victoria Secret Leggings

I received a Victoria Secret's catalogue with some fantastic sales inside!  It has been a while since I received their catalogue and was glad to be on their list again. I saw these leggings and immediately loved them! They are called  Equestrian Ponte Leggings  and are in sizes small to extra large. I love the look. They are cotton spandex with faux leather.  I know Victoria Secret's can run larger, depending on the style and fit, which is what I love about their clothing. Mark you, not all of their styles are like that, just some, so yes, I will fit my curvy bod into it if they work for me. The model is super skinny, which is their ideal body-type of choice and that is so uncool, however I do plan on checking these leggings out so I am placing them on my "Want" list!

Vintage Vogue

In March of 2012 before I decided to create this blog, I shared my love for Vogue magazine on my d-foreverserenity blog with the article I am super-imposing below. I have this "thing" for magazines. I won't say obsession...I love the glossy pages, the colors, and usually read them from cover to cover....! I had so many magazines piled up, I had to get rid of them...and yes, regretted it the minute I did! Anyway, I'm so glad there are online choices now!!!! Takes up less place in my bedroom!lol! I have saved some of my favorite issues, and shared some style inspiration and observation below. These were my  favorite looks from a  Vogue  magazine issue from August 2006 , six years ago in the past, I know, but I have tons of mags and I love  flipping  through the pages!  These  looks are so fresh today !!  Vogue  featured the color combination of  "The  Red  is the new Black" - red being the new black at the time! Hair Trends: The New Red!

Recently I shared with you my fascination for red hair color curvy divas, click the link to read the article!  On a recent trip to the grocery store, as I walked through the grocery aisle what did I see?   Well, the most gorgeous RED HAIR COLOR EVER!!! What do you think I did?  Grabbed a box and purchased it of course!  Although I had the nerve to purchase the hair color, I was having second thoughts about whether I would change my hair to that color or not!  Could I pull off that look? Would it look good with my complexion?  Would everyone who knew me freak out? A girl just had to know!!!! Splat hair color in Luscious Raspberry Shop I finally decided I was ready for a change, a new look, and hopefully my hair won't fall out~!  So I went for it!  What I do love about my natural hair is without any other type of chemical process in my hair, using hair color is actually a lot safer for me without the worry of hair breakage.   I care f...

Love Wedges? How to wear them!

I have this thing with heels that when I mention it to anyone, they look at me as if I'm weird.  I have to, HAVE TO wear heels, at least 80% of the time.    The reason why I have to wear heels a lot is because I'm flat-footed. Yes, I have very low arch , so low that if I wear flats for two to three days straight without any height in heel, my feet will hurt and then I have to wear heels to make my feet feel better. Weird, or a more serious condition? Who knows?!   I wear heel height from 4inches to 6 inches! Nope, I haven't mastered the 7inch heel, and I won't even try.  As a curvy girl, a six-inch heel is the height where I stop! I like wedges, high heels, and stiletto heels.  With some platform heels, popularly called wedges, the heel can be low, or high; however, the main thing is, the heel will balance the height of the heel so that you can walk with confidence!      On about.com, Desiree Stimpe...
