Love it or Leave it: The Kimono

I have seen so many bloggers write about kimonos lately, it's fast becoming one of the favorite fashion trends.  I have Seen so many types of kimonos and so far I am loving this trend. I do love a great cover up and find having those types of clothing in my closet a good thing. Much like a jacket  or cardigan, I doubt you can go wrong.

I set out recently to find one that would be a great look for me and stopped by one of my favorite stores recently to check their styles out. Truthfully, this store has a very trendy clothing line but not too many for a full figured diva. They only go up to an extra large in their clothing. I am lucky that I can fit in most extra large....on a good style day!!!:) :) <3

Seriously though, I grabbed two cover up styles off the rack and headed for the fitting room.

The first one was more a cardigan than a kimono, but I loved the color and look, unfortunately it was a leave it moment. Not a good fit!

The second style was a kimono and the minute I put it on, I was transformed into a fierce fashion diva! I thought "Oh wow, I love this style".

So I am all over kimonos and will definitely add more to my closet. I can picture me having lots of fierce Friday fashion moments with this style. It is definitely a love it! Stay tune for my what I wear in a day article with my new find!

As usual in two words, Be. You! As I always am. These looks definitely fit into the category of

#FFF, Fierce Fashion

Friday style!!!!

Backstage at OIFW Model Casting Call

On Saturday, yesterday in fact, I had the pleasure of attending a casting call for models , an event organized and hosted by Fierce Entertainment Management for their upcoming Orlando International Fashion Week, November  2-8, 2014 . Attendees at the event were welcomed by Fierce Entertainment's, Rob Henlon who then handed the program over to the vivacious Kristania Vielot who instructed the aspiring models for their walk down the runway, strutting their stuff for the designers and other members of the Fierce team. As the models strutted to the sound of the music-mix pumping, guests sipped and ate refreshments that were provided.   Before they walked the impromptu runway, I had a little  tête-à-tête   with three of the young models, Logan-9, Ashley-6 and Aiden-4,  beautiful, cute, and adorable , (who won't want me to call them that, but I am because they were) whose future will lead them to become what they dream of!   ...

Window Shopping Part Deux - What I Chose

As you know from my last article , I went shopping for swimsuit with my teen Mandi and ended up doing the same for myself. After all, I was in need of a new bathing suit. My last purchase for one was from Target eight years ago! And also during that time, I was the lucky recipient of two new suits from my BSFFL (Best Sister Friend For Life) who visited from Europe! So Those have lasted quite a long time!

Shoes, Fabulous Shoes!

There's nothing like a great pair of shoes that finishes an outfit.  You can have on the most darling outfit, but if you don't have the right shoes to go with it, well, somehow you end up feeling like, "Meh", to quote the perfect noncommittal, blah expression! Men of the world, there's one thing you must know, shoes makes the outfit, that's why we women have a variety of  them! In  my quest for nude-colored shoes this season, here are two looks I love from Elle.com "Best Spring Heels" feature. Suede wide-strap wedges from the Gap - $89.99 [Mark  Platt photo] You can never go wrong with Platforms!  If you love having a high heel without the stilts, wedges are the way to go! Paulina Cork Sandal heels from Bebe - $98.00 [Mark Platt photo] Although the linked article is from last year, the color and style are pretty on point for today's look!  The height of the heel is balanced by the platform at the base of the shoe.  Take ...
