Show Me Your Closet

On my Style Want List for 2015 is a jumpsuit.  The jumpsuit became very popular again and it is a look that is still around today. I have seen so many different styles and would like to have one that will fit me perfectly. I walked into  Kohl's the other day and saw an extra large poster of Jennifer Lopez wearing a jumpsuit that made me sigh and whispered "wow".  JLO was wearing the heck out of that jumpsuit.  of course having a stylist and great lighting made it even better!lol! I decided to try on the two I liked the best, one black and the other a black & white print, both JLO's design.   While the black jumpsuit was attractive, and I loved the pockets, the fit wasn't what I liked. I felt it had too much going on.   The waist was gathered elastic band, with a self string, and the bodice was a deep V neckline with a small hook for modesty.  It was a jersey cotton material but it wasn't a great fit for me. Today’s fashion is filled with a lot of sheer and almost nude, aka barely there clothing isn’t it curvy divas?   Did you know that trend didn’t just began with Rihanna’s barely-there dress or even Rose McGowan’s chain dress .   Nope, sheer fashion has been a trend for as long as I can remember. But as many styles that become trends always do, one minute they are extremely popular, and the next they are not.   The sheer trend is more popular than ever today with each actress and entertainer trying to outdo each other in what they do not wear from one function to the next!   I’ve always enjoyed having sheer clothing items in my closet because I find them really attractive as optional layering.   One such item is a shirt I have had for a while now that has been sitting in my closet with nowhere to go, until now! So, you know how it goes sometimes curvy divas, you're stylin' and sometimes some people just don't get it?  You know, those times when you feel a groove and you just wear whatever you want to because you're feeling it and you're fierce?   Having fun with these fun glasses that belong to my daughter Amanda!lol! You may be feeling it, but some people don't.   What do you do?  Do you stop being yourself and conform to what society deems as conservative or more appropriate?  Or do you march to the beat of your own drum and just be your curvy, fabulous self?  Well, I do hope you be your authentic self. We all have those style moments when what we wear don't really....work.  But wear it anyway with the confidence of who we are.  These are the moments when you discover what works for you and what doesn't. Today curvy divas, I'm sharing some of the things I do to add a little more "oomph" to my looks.  Add a scarf, wear red lipstick, how I style my look.  Check out my vlog below, (I've shared it on You Tube as well). The other day when I did my article and off-the-cuff tutorial (no pun intended curvy divas) on how to roll the best cuff on your jeans , I had not actually gone out with my denim rolled up.  That was for the article.  Yesterday since it's been a bee-hive of activities for me, I didn't take these photos until the end of the day.  My hair is all messy and I was actually pretty tired.  But, the things we do for the love of  it! Have you ever done that before curvy divas? Wear swimwear as outerwear? I don't mean having your swimwear on and going to the store on your way to the beach or pool. I mean wear a swimwear item out and about doing daily activities?!!! Well...guess who will try that....ME!  Yep. This bold fashion statement will either be a rave...or a bust! Here I am with a swim cover up on......... a very sheer swim cover up! Will it work?   Am I that bold.....? One of the most favorite "go-to" hairstyle for women of most cultures is the ponytail.   It is a look that is loved by so many because it is easy to do.  You can wear your hair up high; down low, side-swept, in a bun, twisted, or with a part, or not!   It doesn't matter how you do it curvy divas , short of cutting your hair off, a ponytail is one of the best way to wear your hair for summer! Rihanna's look is shaved on the side,  with her hair in several phony up-dos! This seems to be separated in three sections to give her a free-style pony-hawk! I love Domino Dollhouse!  Their fashions are on par with our fun thinking curvy divas !   I just love their sense of style for the larger size woman! We don't want clothing that makes us look bulky, unattractive or fat! We want style with a bit of class and whimsy too!  At least, you can wear one or the other, depending on the occasion, but for the most part, a girl just want to have fun !!!
