Which Nude Lipstick is Perfect for your Skin Tone?

If you've seen my video Vlog about how to remove glitter nail polish and at that time I also shared other random tips , you'll remember I put on a Nude Lipstick, encouraging you curvy divas to not be afraid of colors that you wouldn't normally wear . The online magazine Refinery 29 featured Nude Lipstick like you've never seen them before , because there was one for every skin tone .  It was pretty interesting to see the variety and I wanted to share them with you. Amongst the variety were: Nude with yellow undertones:

Curvy Looks: Jewelry Tattoos

I am sure you have seen those temporary fake tattoos (tatts) that kids and even some grown ups love to wear.  I've also seen some cutesy fashion tatts that my daughter Mandi and  grandson JJ likes to use and I let them have fun with them.  I've even put on a few cute ones on my own wrists in the past. What I didn't know however, was that fashion tattoo jewelry existed. Over at Refinery 29 Gina Marinelli revealed that Moda Operandi has a new fashion collaboration with a few jewelry brands who have created these fashion jewelry tattoos. Take a look at the photo below.  Doesn't the model look so attractively dressed in her arm candy of accessories?  I absolutely love it!  As seen on Refinery 29  Lulu DK   X Daniela Villegas Gold Tattoo jewelry

Must Have Maxi Skirts!

There's something about long skirts that I really love. Perhaps it is the way the skirt swings around my legs as I walk!  Perhaps it is the long lean silhouette you get from wearing a longer skirt!  Perhaps it is the beautiful, brightness of the colors that reminds me of spring and summer!  The styles, the LOOK....whatever it is curvy divas , I love, LOVE Maxis! On Refinery29.com, Lauren Caruso featured Maxis "to die for" in an article entitled, "12 Flowing Maxi-skirts for every Day-to-Night Summer Fete" !  These were my favorite!  To see the full article, click on the link posted with the title! Does Sustainable Fashion have a Future?

Being environmentally conscious is something I am learning to do and it is fast becoming a favorite topic of mine curvy divas . I believe that as time changes we are all learning to not just be aware of our environment but to act to protect it as well! We have to change our attitudes and behavior in our lifestyle so as to consciously help ourselves. Last month H&M along with Vogue put together a panel of fashionably conscious people participated in a live discussion held at The New School for Design at Parson's, about "How can we create a more sustainable fashion future".   Once again I turned to one of my favorite online fashion source, Refinery29  where writer Glynnis Mapp shared more about this outstanding event!  The panel discussed ways we as consumers could practice sustainability in fashion, and also how the government could be involved. There was suggestion of a "by the pound incentive program for consumers..." and where "points" could...

Diversity in Fashion

As read on Refinery29.com, Emily London wrote, "....Debenhams * has worked with inclusivity campaigner and fashion commentator Caryn Franklin, MBE to create a high-summer lookbook featuring men and women from a truly diverse range of backgrounds".      Wow!  Wow! I'm excited and amazed that they have done this curvy divas!!!!  Not only are they using plus size models, they are using people of all ages, and sizes, as well as paraolympians; the models featured are so varied and oh so beautiful!!!!   As I read on, Caryn Franklin continued, " To showcase the range of sizes and labels at Debenhams this season, I chose models to inspire us with their own unique looks and personalities. I loved seeing the way that clothes emboldened each woman and man, and I loved being on a shoot where no two models were the same" .    Bravo!!!! Digital Fashion Magazines

I really do enjoy reading magazines, including the variety of fashion magazines that are on line. As you might have noticed curvy divas , I've posted articles I've read from fashion magazine sites for Elle, Refinery29, Allure, Plus Model, The Daily Muse, and Vogue , the ones I do read the most! Recently, I was perusing Refinery29.com when they mentioned that a new digital fashion magazine is coming on the scene soon. I walked my fingers over to the address link and was prompted to input my email address, which I did. Nothing more, yet.   Never Underdressed , I guess once they have unveiled their big opening, I will be notified! You can read the article by Emily London here: PSA: There's A New Fashion Site on the Block, & We're Bookmarking It Now :   New online magazine. 2014 Update: Unfortunately the magazine didn't have the success as hoped.  Here's a follow up for you to read. How to Style Leggings for a Cool Look

If you remember curvy divas , last summer I wrote my first article about Leggings .   I've even written about men wearing Meggings !    And from time to time, I have featured other articles with leggings!   T his time I've found an article on Refinery29.com showing us tips on how to wear leggings the cool way!    I must admit that not being a size 0, I sometimes tend to cover my "assets" when wearing certain styles, leggings being one of those styles!   I usually layer long with short to give me a cleaner look.  I see from this article that I was on the right track! Joanna Riedl shows us how to style leggings well when we wear them by getting tips from some Fashionistas on the streets, in her article: "5 Locals Show us to Style Leggings - The Cool Way!" Photographs are by Maria del Rio: Of the five Fashionistas she featured, I selected my two favorites! Michele Janezic, Buyer & Manager at Mill Mercantile & designer at Janezic ...

The 90's Trend I'll Never Give Up!

What is that one style, that one fashionable trend that you love so much that you still do it today, and you're not planning on stopping curvy divas ?   For me that trend is layering a dress over pants (or leggings)!  It's something that I do quite often and I don't plan on stopping! One of the reasons I do it is because I don't like wearing dresses that are too short, and even if I do buy a short/mini dress, I'm going to wear it, but with pants, and sometimes leggings!  It is a comfortable and stylish go-to look for me! I recently read on refinery29.com an article about this very look!   Connie Wang & Willow Lindley, authors of the article wrote that the last time anyone probably wore that style was:   ".... to an Avril Lavigne concert...with flip-flops, braces, and a terrycloth wristband, no less. These days, there's probably no other layering technique that'll elicit such extreme, knee-jerk negativity than wearing a  skirt or dress ove...

Fashion Industry and The Plus Size Woman

There are times when I'm happy about the progress that seems to be happening when it comes to fashion for the larger sized woman , and there are times when I'm not so excited! I'm excited when I see the types of design and products that are offered to us curvy divas . Beautiful, well-made clothing, some of them by house designers, or by brand named designers; accessories to die for, and the men who love us!  There are now many different Medium, such as magazines and online fashion stores geared towards us, not to mention the many big and beautiful bloggers out there! I don't get excited however, when I keep seeing clothing that makes absolutely no sense, such as those that are just like shapeless sack cloths, or the designers and/or the industry itself that keeps putting us in the corner!  "No one puts baby in the corner!" Sometime it seems as if we're being thrown a bone to keep us happy and sated!  I was excited to read about an upcoming Plus Sized...
