Re-post: Look of the Day ~ What to wear to Christmas Dinner?

Now that you have seen the "Love it or Leave it" article when I first purchase my JLO design maxi dress curvy divas , in this re-post I am trying to decide how to wear it, and  you will see what I actually wore in my Look of the Day for dinner Christmas 2013.   I like to accessorize as I'm sure many of you do.  Although the dress had a self sash, I wanted to see what it would look like with a different belt; and if I should wear a sweater because at the time it was cooler here in Orlando....decisions, decisions! Have you thought about what you will be wearing yet for your celebrations?  I haven't even decided yet if I am hosting dinner this year as I did last year or not.  Stay tuned to these blogs to find out where I will be having Christmas dinner and what I will wear! In the meantime, go see how I styled my JLO maxi dress! ~Click the link below~: Look of the Day ~ Fabulously Curvy

Re-post: Love it or Leave it? ~ Fabulously Curvy

I am enjoying these re-posts, re-discovering articles I've written, oh the joy!   I do hope my dear curvy divas that you are enjoying them too.  Today's curvy re-post is a Love it or Leave it article! It was actually my first JLO brand purchase, a gorgeous maxi dress!  I love Jennifer Lopez' work as a singer, and actress (I won't hear any bad thing about it!), and I am ga-ga about her clothing designs.  When I get back to writing new articles, I will share why I do like her designs so much. Go to the link below to see that dress. Then stay tune for the follow-up article on the next re-post! Can you guess what that will be?  Nope, I'm not even going to give you a hint.  So, read the linked article, then keep an eye out for the next one! ~Click here~: Love it or Leave it? ~ Fabulously Curvy

Designer Styles I Want in Curvy Styles

I love Alexander Wang's designs.  His creations are on point with the style-looks I like.   I wish I could be his muse...if he ever designed for the full-figured woman!   I thought his "T by Alexander" brand was for plus size, but I've only seen up to a size Large- L. That hasn't stopped me from loving his designs.  Take this dress below, these are not from his "T" line.   The moment I saw the zippered neckline, I fell in want for it! The color, the lines, simple, yet so chic! Who doesn't love a sweater dress curvy divas ?! Alexander Wang Tunic with Zip Bandana SHOP And this Palazzo Leather Pants....!!!!! ~Drool~ SHOP This is the type of looks I want to see for our lovely curves, wouldn't you agree curvy divas?  It's not just about body-con dresses and how high a split will go....those are important depending on your style aesthetics - And I love a good figure-hugging dress too!  A great cl...

When Wearing Black Goes Wrong

I think I can say for most of us that we do enjoy wearing black from time to time, right curvy divas?!   In fact, for some people, they wear only the color black.  I say that's a bit obsessive, but hey, I'm not judging.  Being a transplanted New Yorker living in Florida, I almost fitted that quota too, except for my love of bright colors ~whew~!  Even my prints are black and white!lol! Have you ever worn a black outfit thinking it's going to be just fantastic and you will "blend" in with the scene of wherever you planned on going?  Sometimes we just don't want to stand out, you know what I mean?  Well, by doing that, how can you go wrong?!  I didn't think it was possible though until I read this article on Huffington Post, and saw the photographs of celebs wearing black, and oh my, when wearing black, went really wrong! I like Selena Gomez, especially because my teen is a fan of hers...but what was she thinking in this outfit? Can you see what i...

Curvy Collaborations: The Top 10 Plus Size Models by GlamCurvy

Loving fashion for women in general, especially for us curvy women , I began to seek the people behind the scenes, the designers, and the models. Recently, Tanisha B of Glamcurvyonline shared the Top 10, that is THE TOP T-E-N, plus size women, models in the industry. The women featured were all beautiful and fabulous.  However, once again, the question that keeps raising its ugly head popped up again, "Is this true plus size?"  We won't dwell too deeply into that question at this writing (you can seek out that discussion elsewhere on this blog).   While we continue to ponder the true size of plus size models these days, I was very happy to see actual beautiful, full-figured women on the list.  On the list, Plus Model Velvet d'Amour (Photo courtesy of Huffington Post by way of Glamcurvyonline) Click the link below to see who else made this great list, and don't forget to browse other articles by Tanisha B while you're there! http://glamcurvy.co...

The 5 Tips You Need to Know Before Buying Your Next Pair of Jeans

Next to a bathing suit fitting,  or a bra fitting, finding the best pair of jeans for your body type can be quite stressful.    I've shared this information before but since our minds will be fashion-forwarding to Fall soon, why not re-share some great tips from Petra Flannery on Heidi Klum's website at  www.heidiklum.aol.com : The Best Jeans for your Body Type by Fashion Expert Petra Flannery Skinny jeans are not for everyone.  So true.  But I also agree that you can find the right skinny jeans for you,  just balance it out with the top you wear, and wear the look with confidence. Bootcut legs, or flare leg jeans balances out your body .  It's great for someone with really skinny legs, according to the article.   For me personally, I do own a pair of bootcut, the legs are slightly flared, and tapers from a close-fit on top to slightly wider below the knees. Just find the right pair that fits your body. High waisted jeans gives ...

Found:The Sexiest Top Ever....How to wear?

I found this gorgeous top at one of my favorite places I shop when I'm on a budget, Rainbow.  They carry very trendy pieces for all sizes, which is why I love going there.  I call them my "Diamond in the rough" because they may look really cheap, but they will have some great styles, with good tailoring from time to time.   This beige/oatmeal colored top was one of those deals!  I fell in love with it right away.  I fitted it, and it's great on. But my dilemma is, how do I wear it?  With jeans, skirt, slacks?  Do I go with a tank underneath, or a jacket over....but a jacket would hide those gorgeous details! Note the beaded Y-shaped back, the rouching at the waist, and the cowl neck on the front, and the drape-effect on the back!  It definitely will be a great look.  What I am unsure about is the "bareness", and as I'm working on my arms right now, (running 3-4 times a week ...

What I Wear In A Day: Thursday's Style Look

I wanted to post Thursday's look before this new week fully started, even though it is already monday curvy divas! My look was button front printed shirt by Natalie , transparent (or see-through) and my skirt is a Mossimo brand with box pleats and wears well with anything so far! My heels I wore (not in photo when I wore my look; but in the pre-shots below) were from JCP , it is a leather snake print with gold trimming- oh so comfy and stylish.  What I love about those heels is that I can drive in them. My jewelry, beaded bracelets and "diamond" rimmed small earrings (somehow my hairband got in the mix!lol!) How to Pamper Your Skin

One of the things that my mother always told me to do was to take care of my skin.  It is a ritual I began in my late teens, especially because of one of my besties, Tina.   We would spend hours doing the skin and hair rituals, beautifying ourselves. I have never forgotten that curvy divas, nor my mom's advice and it is one of the advice that I hope I have taught to my own children. I do try to take care of my skin as often as I can. You know how it goes though curvy divas, you get busy with life and living, and you forget take your make up off before going to sleep (oh the horrors) and sometimes you even forget to throw out old make up! Yep, a crime I have corrected recently. ~Whew~ Because I haven't had the time for a full routine of a do-it-yourself facial lately, I decided to give myself a quickie.  What is a quickie facial you wonder?   I did a very quick mix using my favorite ingredients: oats, lime juice, honey, and water; I then mixed the com...

What I wear in a Day: A Week of Prints

My work style plays a large role in what I wear on a daily basis during the week. As you know I work in an office, but business casual Is the norm for most.  Some of us do take the time to be appropriately attired, me included. This week I am going with mix' n match PRINTS! One of my style resolutions for this year was to go bold or mix it up when I wear prints. So it is with that on mind that I took "a walk thru my closet"  selecting a few of my black and white prints which I will wear and feature on my blog this week in What I wear in a day. Do you like prints and/or patterns curvy divas? Would you mix and match prints? Let me know if you like my style choices when I post about my outfits. This was Monday`s look - solid colors black/white with a bold printed scarf Shorts, Apt 9; Sweater, Torrid; White shirt, Full Coverage; Scarf, unknown, tagless; Booties, Michael Kors
