Found: The TShirt Dress

I found myself at the Mall of Millenia, a high-end mall the other day, Amanda and I went on a little adventure at which I was very excited. This mall is a bit farther away from us so we don't get there as often. It was about time I visited H&M...oh my love for that store has increased!!!  While I was there, I wanted to grab a handful of clothing and run to the fitting room, but I had a hard time finding my size.  Where were the larger sizes for us curvy girls??!!  I thought there was a sectioned for plus size-didn't see if one and couldn't find sizes for me. Jersey Maxi Dress w/raw edges at arms & slit It was a busy place so I couldn't ask anyone who worked there (I saw so few employees), but the store was pretty busy... however after looking around, I saw a dress I liked, a large was the largest size, I picked one in each color, a black and a grey;  it was a tee-shirt style, cotton-jersey material; with a round neckline and a slit that had me wonder

Trend Watch: Graphic Tees (Redux)

Last Year I wrote an article about graphic print tees , showing the many ways you can wear them (article linked below).  I see that it is pretty much a trend that never goes out of style and keeps on being popular! Here are several looks worn by myself or my daughter Amanda & one of her BFF's! This look with a statement earrings instead of a statement necklace .   Amanda's BFF Chasety wearing a cute tee! I loved the ideas I shared in my article linked here .  One of my favorite style look is  wearing graphic tee with a statement necklace ! Amanda in one her favorites! Pretty much the most popular way to wear a graphic tee is with your favorite pair of jeans ,  be it pants or shorts. But you can wear them with skirt....or anything else for that matter.   Accessories are optional when you wear a graphic tee , and it is OK to dress them up!

Yeah me....never too old to celebrate I say!!! lol! https://www.google.com/ Go to my write up and re-post on my personal blog d-foreverserenity.com.

What I Wear In A Day: Thursday's Style Look

I wanted to post Thursday's look before this new week fully started, even though it is already monday curvy divas! My look was button front printed shirt by Natalie , transparent (or see-through) and my skirt is a Mossimo brand with box pleats and wears well with anything so far! My heels I wore (not in photo when I wore my look; but in the pre-shots below) were from JCP , it is a leather snake print with gold trimming- oh so comfy and stylish.  What I love about those heels is that I can drive in them. My jewelry, beaded bracelets and "diamond" rimmed small earrings (somehow my hairband got in the mix!lol!) Photo above: Yes, it was the end of my work day, but I had to get a photo in (self shot at home) Photo below: My make up This my dear curvy divas is the end of my week of Mix 'n Match Print; but not the end of me wearing prints, patterns or mixing up my style....as if!!!:-) So, what do you think? Did you lik

Mix `n Match Prints: Black/White - Two in One

Oh vey!! I'm so late in posting my looks for Tuesday and now we're almost over with Wednesday!!!! My apologies my curvy divas.  So today you get a treat...my lovely mug...yep, my cute face (~smile~) and two days of me wearing prints! As you saw in my last post about what I wore in a day, I added a bold printed scarf to my otherwise solid color outfit .  For Tuesday I wore  separates, a blouse I love in black and white print & one of my favorite skirts, also in black and white print.  I received so many compliments on that choice.  Everyone thought I was wearing a dress!  I took this photo at the end of the day... Blouse, Vol 1 (Thrift find); Skirt, Notations Woman, Target Earrings, Dreamcatcher, Crafted by Native Americans - a gift Suede Ankle Boots, JCP, Strictly Comfort    Wrap-a-round beaded bracelet - FromJessicaV This is my look today (Wednesday): Again, black & White print... and what a mix of patterns I'm wearing. How to Pamper Your Skin

One of the things that my mother always told me to do was to take care of my skin.  It is a ritual I began in my late teens, especially because of one of my besties, Tina.   We would spend hours doing the skin and hair rituals, beautifying ourselves. I have never forgotten that curvy divas, nor my mom's advice and it is one of the advice that I hope I have taught to my own children. I do try to take care of my skin as often as I can. You know how it goes though curvy divas, you get busy with life and living, and you forget take your make up off before going to sleep (oh the horrors) and sometimes you even forget to throw out old make up! Yep, a crime I have corrected recently. ~Whew~ Because I haven't had the time for a full routine of a do-it-yourself facial lately, I decided to give myself a quickie.  What is a quickie facial you wonder?   I did a very quick mix using my favorite ingredients: oats, lime juice, honey, and water; I then mixed the combination in

What I wear in a Day: A Week of Prints

My work style plays a large role in what I wear on a daily basis during the week. As you know I work in an office, but business casual Is the norm for most.  Some of us do take the time to be appropriately attired, me included. This week I am going with mix' n match PRINTS! One of my style resolutions for this year was to go bold or mix it up when I wear prints. So it is with that on mind that I took "a walk thru my closet"  selecting a few of my black and white prints which I will wear and feature on my blog this week in What I wear in a day. Do you like prints and/or patterns curvy divas? Would you mix and match prints? Let me know if you like my style choices when I post about my outfits. This was Monday`s look - solid colors black/white with a bold printed scarf Shorts, Apt 9; Sweater, Torrid; White shirt, Full Coverage; Scarf, unknown, tagless; Booties, Michael Kors

How to's: Long hair to Short Hair in Six Steps

Have you ever wanted to try a shorter hair style but didn't want to cut your own hair?  I have so many times curvy divas ; but my hair takes so long to grow; although I've been toying with the idea of chopping it all off again! One of the beauty of my hair is I can have it styled with the latest hair trend by my favorite stylist using fake hair to create the look I want.  I used to do that back in the day when I was a major player in the hair extension-wearing-land. Today I prefer to don a wig or just wear a hat. Lately I have been drooling over those women I see in magazines and on television with their half long, half shaved hair-do's ....  Since I'm not going to shave my head anytime soon (unless I get one of those crazy-flash-I don't-care-moments!lol!), in perusing elle.com/beauty/hair as I love to read everything Elle, and found a great "How to" and thought I would share . Long hair....to short....see below Do you have long hair?  Have you b

Can Fat be Fashionable?

If we were to think the way so many designers and retailers "out there" do, one would think fat is NOT fashionable. However, I beg to differ and so will you I am sure curvy divas.   This sweater, flirty skirt, flats w/tights...styled out! Sure it may take more materials to make clothing for the larger size woman, but what's wrong with that?  Isn't it just a matter of supply and demand? Pretty much as it is in any given situation to say for example, the demand for materials to build bigger houses, or to design and build a much more advanced and high-tech equipment or vehicle....should I continue...?  You get the point?! LOVE her style We know designers and retailers already do charge a lot for anything they produce, until their clothings are marked down and go on sale.  So what's the big deal uh?   We might be larger in size but we love fashion just the same. It s a good thing that there are so many beautiful curvy divas around who do prove how tru

14 Hair Colors to Try This Year

Megan Cahn a beauty contributor for  Elle magazine online on elle.com/beauty/hair  wrote an article  about  different hair colors to try for this Spring curvy divas.   I say why stop at Spring? Why not have a different color for each season of the entire year!  It might be stressful on the tresses, but with careful planning & gentle care, it could work couldn't it?   In the article there are the usual blonde, brunette, and of course my favorite red-head color palettes to choose from. But she also featured Easter-colors such as purples, blues....impressively wow!   Follow the link and take a look to see which color you like; or if you're like me, how many colors you will try! Above all else consult with an expert, go for it and have FUN !!! Left to right: Kate Upton,  Ireland Baldwin, & Emma Stone I would love to try that turquoise blue hue!!! Getty Images

The Leather Trend: You Need These in Your Closet

I'm fascinated by leather, are you curvy divas?   It is the smell, look and feel that makes it such a fascinating clothing choice.   The versatility of leather is boundless! You can wear any leather item in your closet with anything , which girl (or guy) doesn't like that?!   I was perusing elle.com recently and found an article about what else....LEATHER! I had to share it with you.   I saw these shoes and immediately thought "Oh my shoegasm"! These heels are to die for.  The look, the style...we are shoe lovers after all. Giuseppe Zannotti SandalsPhoto by shoescribe.com as seen on elle.com I love the look of this leather bracelet. The hook design means it won't be hard to put on or take off all by myself.  Leather stretches so I can fit it on my wrist. It has a kind of "rocker-chic" look that I like.
