What I Wear in a Day

I have been posting the style looks I wear to work all week on our Facebook fan page. My style can be quite eclectic and I do try not to go too much off the deep bend because of work. Here are a few looks I have worn. Remember to make the trend yours, and never feel uncomfortable in how you wear your fashion!

Manstyle: When your Mankles are Squeezed out by Mulottes

This terminology slipped by me last summer.  OK, I admit it, I fell asleep at the wheel and didn't feature a lot on the blog last year.  Do you want to know a day in the life of me?  Nope, you have to go over to D-foreverserenity for that.  Our platform is fashion and all the fashionable news and information we can find. Trends, celebrate our curves, and let's not forget our men! Needless to say, we can't be everywhere curvy divas, especially when personal life kicks in.  But now that I'm up and rolling again, let me ask you, did you hear about "Mankles?"   Well, if you're a fan of The Cut as I am, you would have.  But not to worry, that's what I'm here for.    Photo by YoungJun Koo/I'm Koo as seen on The Cut article by Allison P. Davis If you guessed that Mankles are related to men's fashion. You've got it!  What exactly about men's fashion?  Well, "ankles" definitely gives the clue away .  So why do we ...

What Not To Wear: The Doobie-Wrap Hair Look

I was watching the AMAs last night, it was entertaining for me because I'm a big fan of Pitbull and was so happy to see him, a Latin American in that forum on the MIC - Man In Charge. (Yes I made that up).  The red carpet was interesting, I saw some great looks and some not so great looks. I didn't see everyone though but man, now I'm glad I didn't because after I saw RiRi aka Rih Rih aka Rihanna on the stage accepting her music award, well, I almost fell off my chair! Photo courtesy of Perezhilton.com I did a double-take and confirmed that yes, Ms. Rihanna was wearing an unfinished look at the  AMAs .  So aghast I was, I even tweeted it: Donna  ‏ @ ForeverSerenity 21h Only # RiRi can dare to wear that hair look in front of billions!!! U have to be black to know what I'm talking about... # AMAs My comment was a bit more demure... thinking maybe she forgot to take her hair down?  I mean, really RiRi?   That's the look we black women, some L...

Buy, Return, Repeat - Your shopping habits being monitored?

It seems there are some people with habits that are getting some retailers upset.  There are some stores that do not like their customers return habits.  There are some consumers out there curvy divas, who buy an item, wear it, and return to the store.   They do this over and over again, so much so that they are now on the "radar" of the store's management! These stores are now changing their return policies for customer's who constantly return stuff.  So it is not only because the customer have worn a garment and returned it, but just because they buy and return, and buy and return.....possibly, more than two times in a given month.  According to the article I read on Refinery29.com ,  some stores are now "compiling data on customers who often purchase and return items, even if they do so at different stores.  Information about you will go into a database where other stores who are part of whatever organization or linke...

An Awesome Arm Party

Accessories can enhance or detract from a person's outfit.  It can be your signature go-to look because you love to wear it so much or it can be just a way to have fun with fashion!  I like that we have choices. I also like that these days with fashion, your individuality shines through with the way you put yourself together!  For some of us, we have a hard time knowing what to wear, how to wear a certain look or even we probably wouldn't dare to wear something because we think we might not look good in "that"! I hear ya curvy divas . Some days, a girl just have a hard time going through her closet, however, when it comes to accessories, this is where the fun begins!  For me personally, sometimes I build my outfit "around" what my accessory choice of the day is! Yes, I do and usually it turns out to be a success! Purewow.com featured some accessories recently .   The title of their article was, "Stack the Deck - A Grownup Arm Party" !  They ...

I've learned some new words used in Fashion , and gotten familiar with some I used to know!
