What do you think I did?  Grabbed a box and purchased it of course!  Although I had the nerve to purchase the hair color, I was having second thoughts about whether I would change my hair to that color or not!  Could I pull off that look? Would it look good with my complexion?  Would everyone who knew me freak out? A girl just had to know!!!! Splat hair color in Luscious Raspberry Shop I finally decided I was ready for a change, a new look, and hopefully my hair won't fall out~!  So I went for it!  What I do love about my natural hair is without any other type of chemical process in my hair, using hair color is actually a lot safer for me without the worry of hair breakage.   I care for my hair regularly by doing deep condi

Buy, Return, Repeat - Your shopping habits being monitored?

It seems there are some people with habits that are getting some retailers upset.  There are some stores that do not like their customers return habits.  There are some consumers out there curvy divas, who buy an item, wear it, and return to the store.   They do this over and over again, so much so that they are now on the "radar" of the store's management! These stores are now changing their return policies for customer's who constantly return stuff.  So it is not only because the customer have worn a garment and returned it, but just because they buy and return, and buy and return.....possibly, more than two times in a given month.  According to the article I read on Refinery29.com ,  some stores are now "compiling data on customers who often purchase and return items, even if they do so at different stores.  Information about you will go into a database where other stores who are part of whatever organization or linked-data, will be able to probably &qu

Back to School Fashion & JC Penney's!

Well curvy divas , for some of you with children, it is that time of the year again, when Summer ends, and a new school year begins!  It's back to school time, and what comes to mind? Well, back to school fashion of course!  For weeks my daughter Amanda had been hinting to me that she wants everything, EVERYTHING new for her return to school, and that means making a really good impression on the first day!   Although my plans were to do combination shopping to keep us within a certain budget, I knew we also had to visit Plato's Closet!  She kept showing me photos her friends sent to her of their own shopping trips and what they will be wearing for the school year. Hmmm, being the budget-prepared mommy that I am, guess who wasn't fully prepared for this year's journey?  Me! Yep, me!  But thank heavens, just in time, we were able to go off to our favorite place, Fashion Square Mall and did just what she wanted! Her one and only stop at the mall?  JCP of course! Becau

The Best Ponytail Hair Looks for Summer

One of the most favorite "go-to" hairstyle for women of most cultures is the ponytail.   It is a look that is loved by so many because it is easy to do.  You can wear your hair up high; down low, side-swept, in a bun, twisted, or with a part, or not!   It doesn't matter how you do it curvy divas , short of cutting your hair off, a ponytail is one of the best way to wear your hair for summer! Rihanna's look is shaved on the side,  with her hair in several phony up-dos! This seems to be separated in three sections to give her a free-style pony-hawk! Free use image from hairpediaclub.com This look is a ponytail with bangs and a bump in the center .  It's a look that can be worn by women of any age. Love Wedges? How to wear them!

I have this thing with heels that when I mention it to anyone, they look at me as if I'm weird.  I have to, HAVE TO wear heels, at least 80% of the time.    The reason why I have to wear heels a lot is because I'm flat-footed. Yes, I have very low arch , so low that if I wear flats for two to three days straight without any height in heel, my feet will hurt and then I have to wear heels to make my feet feel better. Weird, or a more serious condition? Who knows?!   I wear heel height from 4inches to 6 inches! Nope, I haven't mastered the 7inch heel, and I won't even try.  As a curvy girl, a six-inch heel is the height where I stop! I like wedges, high heels, and stiletto heels.  With some platform heels, popularly called wedges, the heel can be low, or high; however, the main thing is, the heel will balance the height of the heel so that you can walk with confidence!      On about.com, Desiree Stimpert wrote (1) : wedges "...are worldly and eye-catchin

How to Wear Glitter in the Daytime

Have you ever worn sequin aka glitter?  It is pretty much a trend in fashion these days.  Glitter is worn mostly at nights and for real special and dressier occasions. But not so today curvy divas. Glitter can also be worn during the day!  I've worn glitter during the day time before and I try to make it look as understated as possible!  You don't need too much accessories when you wear glitter.  It is pretty much how you put your outfit together! On Elle.com Amanda Fitzsimons interviewed designer Marissa Webb who is known for using sequins during the daytime!  Amanda wanted to know if this look (daytime glitter) can really work? Marissa said it definitely can and thinks it is in how shine the sequinned (or glittered) garment that choose to wear is. It is not just in the size of the beadings at all! I tend to agree with her.   I don't think a really shiny sequinned garment on its own, would work for daytime. That would definitely be overkill!  How would you possibly
