Vintage Vogue

In March of 2012 before I decided to create this blog, I shared my love for Vogue magazine on my d-foreverserenity blog with the article I am super-imposing below. I have this "thing" for magazines. I won't say obsession...I love the glossy pages, the colors, and usually read them from cover to cover....! I had so many magazines piled up, I had to get rid of them...and yes, regretted it the minute I did! Anyway, I'm so glad there are online choices now!!!! Takes up less place in my bedroom!lol! I have saved some of my favorite issues, and shared some style inspiration and observation below. These were my  favorite looks from a  Vogue  magazine issue from August 2006 , six years ago in the past, I know, but I have tons of mags and I love  flipping  through the pages!  These  looks are so fresh today !!  Vogue  featured the color combination of  "The  Red  is the new Black" - red being the new black at the time! Patrick Demar...

Bold Stripes

I've got one word to say to you curvy divas .  "Stripes"!   Yes, stripes...are in for the upcoming fashionable seasons of spring and summer.  Every store I visit I see stripes, magazines I peruse....stripes, online...even more stripes!!  The oddest thing is, I have always worn stripes. I own a few clothing items with stripe patterns. Lately however, I seem to be fixated with black and white stripes!  It is a great combination after all don't you think?! Recently, whowhatwear.com featured an array of Bold Stripes on their fashion site, take a look below and follow the link here to read all about it ! Curvy divas , don't be afraid of stripes. They can be quite flattering for our figure. Just be sure to choose the style and look that is good for you!

Look of the Day

I'm not feeling my hair today, at all. I wanted to style it a bit differently   than the usual way it usually looks, somehow, I'm not sure if it looks right?   Sometimes I have no idea what to wear in a given day!  I try to put an outfit together that will make me feel my best, and I wear colors that enhances my looks!  Today  I'm wearing one of my favorite colors,  pink! :-) Pink cardigan top, buttoned-front, with short sleeves , a vintage from back in the day! My Scarf, courtesy of a friend's trip to New York! (scarves are great go-to items to have in your wardrobe!) What is True Plus Size?

I was reading Plus Model Magazine online at plus-model-mag.com and clicked on a link to one of their articles entitled:   "Plus size model Robyn Lawley is hot! hot! hot! in Australian Cosmopolitan Magazine" I was excited to see this plus-sized maven who was wowing the Australian market!  I clicked and saw a very pretty    beautiful woman featured in the article!  She's a very striking woman, and I can see the attraction!  But her size left me non-plussed!  I expected to see a larger sized woman staring back at me, but nope, this was one of the photographs of her! I'm not sure what to think?!  I'm happy for her, she's doing well in her field, she is as I said very attractive, but plus sized?  What?!!! Once again, not only are we getting bad names from stores who think our sizes are not worth the bother in carrying, but we're also getting gypped by the size of the women who are supposed to be larger than the regular s...

Full Figured Fashion Week

I've been looking curvy divas . Searching and reading and trying to find anything, since I wrote about Fashion's Night Out worldwide , and Fashion Week in New York in earlier blog articles, I promised to find out if there were any plus sized fashions featured there.  So far, I've found none.  That's a sad tale really.  I did found out however, that earlier this year, June 2012 to be exact, there was Full Figured Fashion Week !  I wonder why the two can't go together?  Would the thinner people be upset if full sized fashion were featured at that time as well? I think not!  It perhaps has a lot to do with the designers, and perhaps the retailers too, who knows?! FFFW.com gave awards to those who have played unforgettable roles in the industry!  The full figure fashion show had many sponsors, including Lane Bryant and Ashley Stewart.  The plus size fashion magazine, Full Blossom Magazine , dedicated an entire issue to the occasion and events ...

The Leather Trend

I've heard nothing but talk about leather for this Fall season . It's included in many a designers looks on the Runway recently, and it pops in several magazines as well! How would you wear leather curvy divas ?  Would you dress it up, or down?  Accessorize, or not?  It's not the most functional material to wear, if it's not made well. And it can be the most stylish if you put your outfit together in a very chic way! Here are some leather looks I liked enough  to pin on my Pinterest board : Ralph Rucci from Nina Garcia's pinterest board (WWD Mag photo) I see myself in this look, with heels to carry off the length of the skirt. The boots, to party though, not work! Chloe Quilted Leather Skirt from Bergdorf Goodmanfrom Elle.com fashion trend This skirt, beautiful and I would wear it with a jacket for work, or a sheer blouse to party! The look I just couldn't pull off: Marc Jacobs  Moda Operandi - Nina Garcia's Pinterest Board ...
