Vera Wang in Larger Sizes

You might know by now curvy divas, Kohl's is one of my favorite stores to shop!  I love it because they carry fabulous names in fashion and fabulous finds for every sizes, including ours!  You have seen the other some of the clothes I've gotten from Kohl's but I've never shared my Vera Wang finds...um..not true, I just remembered, I did share it before!  My Vera Wang sheath dress (XL) from several seasons ago that I absolutely love to wear!  I paired it with leggings, (have worn with jeans or dress pants too)! One of the other items I have from Vera Wang (XL), a long Satin Jacket with Self Sash/Belt.  It is knee length and I've worn it with dresses, skirts and pants.  Always "out on the town", but never to work.  Until recently!  I've decided that my clothes will no longer sit in my closet waiting for me to find somewhere "nice" or some  "fancy occasion" to wear them!  I spend so many hours five days a week at work curvy divas, why can't I wear one or two (or more) items to work?  As with anything that I always say to you, choose your style, get the look you love and just go for it!

This black satin jacket has awesome detailing that I really like!

A Re-post: Red Carpet Reviews - 2013 American Music Awards

Another post of mine that was a write up for Orlando Fashion Week Magazine.  It was published there previously.  If you missed it, I'm sharing it again here on my blog for the first time, with some edits for relevance of course curvy divas. A writer's work is never done! Let me know which celebrity wore your favorite style! Did you watch last year's AMAs? Me too!  It was one of the best with my favorite Mr. Worldwide, Pitbull as host.  Did you catch the fashion that walked the red carpet?  No? Well, pull up a chair and I'll fill you in. At the 2012 award show, Christina Aguilera was beautiful in all her curvyness in a Pamella Roland dress, unfortunately, she went overboard on the suntan lotion.  Last year, she showed off a much leaner physique in a white Maria Lucia Hohan cut-out dress with a high split on the side.  Her shoes were Christian Louboutin peep-toe and I loved her pave jewelry. I've seen people wearing socks with sneakers. ..I've never done that one, but I can understand why some people do it. Well, sometimes the dust and dirt gets into your footwear, or dries out your skin so wearing socks with sandals is a must....um, maybe NOT!!!lol! I've had visible panty line without realizing it. Sometimes it is just too late to change my outfit and so I just roll with the best of them!   A quick recover is to wear a long cardigan, or jacket (which I do), or just wrap your shirt around your waist to cover your assets...which might just be an even bigger faux pas! ~ chagrin ~ In their Beauty & Style feature on sheknows.com , they featured The Top Fashion Faux-pas ! Fashionistas - What's in a Word

You have heard this word before curvy divas , "Fashionistas"?  When it comes to anything to do with fashion and being fashionable, I am sure you have!  Do you know who coined the word and how it came about?  Well, first of all I didn't even realized that there was a story to the word, much less it being "coined" by any one particular person!  I just thought it was one of those words that came about and became popular because of its usage and in reference to anything fashion! According to Elle.com's Culture News, in an article by Rebecca Moss , the word Fashionistas was first created by Stephen Fried. In 1993, Fried, a young Journalist was writing a book about the Model Gia Carangi, who died very young, (sidenote-have you seen the [autobiography] movie of the same name, Gia? - I did and it is one to watch)!  Stephen met with people in the Industry and wanted a word that would represent who and what they were.  Because models and the Industry weren't p...
