Bondage

Fashion is a wonderful thing. It represents all aspects of life. Have you ever thought of that curvy divas?  Let's see, it showcases not just the design talents and skills of the people who create and make them from start to finish; fashion is created from our lives, the past and present, and also predicts future trends!

A month ago while I was doing Christmas shopping, I picked up a pair of shoes that I saw and loved the moment I laid eyes on them!  Now, mind you I couldn't try them on because I had recently hurt my right foot and was still recovering from that injury, I couldn't wear shoes, let alone heels!  They were also inexpensive but nicely made so what's not to like?  I posted them on my Oh My Shoegasm page!  I recently wore them (after healing - almost done) and oh my, they didn't disappoint!

The style - love it; the comfort - love it

It dawned on me that these stiletto heels were in the Bondage style!  I decided to look around online for more shoes of this nature.  I wasn't disappointed! There was such a plethora of shoes when I searched via Google and chose "Images"!  An article caught my eye when I went back to the "Search" tab.  I love the blog Polyvore, though I didn't log in, I read an article written in 2008, "Bondage Shoes - Love them or Hate them?"  A pair they featured resembled mine!  I noticed in the comments a lot of the readers said they loved the look but wouldn't wear them because of the look and/or they just didn't know what to wear them with (too bold a statement) etc.

Do you want to see what I wore mine with?

Shorts, and sweat-shirt sweater & shirt layered look! (the shorts are knee-length)

When it comes to fashion my opinion is this.  It is in how you wear it, and how confident you are when you do!  If you love a look and are attracted to it, why not try it.  However, if you're going to worry about how others might feel about seeing you in what you wear, then don't do it because you're not going to carry-off your look with ease and style.

I was pretty eclectic growing up with my own sense of style and I still am.  Admittedly I lost myself a bit as a grown up being in a certain type of environment.  However, I've come full circle and I really don't care what other people think anymore!lol!  Today at my age, in my head I'm still 27 but if I can look like I'm 37, I'm happy with that! (and yes, I'm older than 37!)  The thing for you to do curvy divas is to know what you want, get it and own it!

Global Fashion: For the Bride: Bridal Week in Barcelona

Tis the season for brides, in fact, it really is ANY season that a bride to be chooses to get married.  However many weddings take place from Spring to Summer.  It must be something about the warm weather coming back, and flowers blooming with that scent in the air...could it be romance?! I took a  virtual walk over to glamour.com and found some really beautiful photos of bridal gowns in an article written by Glamour contributor Kim Fusaro , in her article featuring Barcelona's annual fashionable event, Bridal Week.

Fashionistas - What's in a Word

You have heard this word before curvy divas , "Fashionistas"?  When it comes to anything to do with fashion and being fashionable, I am sure you have!  Do you know who coined the word and how it came about?  Well, first of all I didn't even realized that there was a story to the word, much less it being "coined" by any one particular person!  I just thought it was one of those words that came about and became popular because of its usage and in reference to anything fashion! According to Elle.com's Culture News, in an article by Rebecca Moss , the word Fashionistas was first created by Stephen Fried. In 1993, Fried, a young Journalist was writing a book about the Model Gia Carangi, who died very young, (sidenote-have you seen the [autobiography] movie of the same name, Gia? - I did and it is one to watch)!  Stephen met with people in the Industry and wanted a word that would represent who and what they were.  Because models and the Industry weren't p...

Day Two: Curvy Finds: Thrift Shopping Awesome

I love thrifting, do you? I have not stopped by our local Goodwill in a while and decided to go browse , just to see what I could find. You know what I love about thrifting at Goodwill? Their color theme discount.   If you happen to purchase clothing items and the tag is the color of the day, you get it at half price! A J.Jill Striped dress, a score on special discount! Now normally, I rarely ever get in on that discount . But it's thrifting, and they give student discount, whose complaining?   Not me!  I am really looking for certain items which I will share at another write up, however, I went in with an open mind and a promise not to walk out with too much stuff . I'm infamous for going in for "one item" and walking out with let's just say more than one!
