How to have a Closet of Never-ending Outfits

What are some of the items that you would find in most women's closet?

A long sleeved denim shirt
A Button-downed shirt - (two - one color, one white)
A sheath dress (aka a straight or shift style dress)
A great fitting pair of jeans
A tailored jacket
A pair of khakis
A flirty skirt
A stripe t-shirt and a plain one
A pair of Converse
A pair Sneakers
A pair of flats
Tanks tops
High heels
A scarf
A sweater
A pair of dress trousers
A pair of leggings

Now, what other pieces could you add to those basic pieces that you already own?  Here is what I would add:

Your skirt should be a flirty A-line skirt in a print or plain - or both.

A white dress…it could be another sheath dress or an A-line one.

You can get a dressy pair of sneakers, either Keds or Vans

And, more heels; you should have, a two-inch or three-inches for work; a four inches for dress-up, and super skinny stilettos for those "knock-em-dead" moments, in nude, black or red.

You can never have too many tank tops - add a silky or dressy type. This one is cropped!

You should also own a nice pair of ankle boots and/or booties. I'm loving these Python ones!

Remember that everyone needs a bejeweled sweater for those holiday moments!

Trousers can be with prints, make it a fun pattern for a bit of adventure, why not?

You could add another pair of flat shoes.  It should be a nice pair of dressy loafers, either bejeweled or patent. Don't forget belts.  Leather belts with buckle, or skinny ones will do too.

Along with your basics, these new additions should seal the deal for a never-ending closet of outfits!  What do you think?  Which  would you wear, or not?

A Re-post: Red Carpet Reviews - 2013 American Music Awards

Another post of mine that was a write up for Orlando Fashion Week Magazine.  It was published there previously.  If you missed it, I'm sharing it again here on my blog for the first time, with some edits for relevance of course curvy divas. A writer's work is never done! Let me know which celebrity wore your favorite style! Did you watch last year's AMAs? Me too!  It was one of the best with my favorite Mr. Worldwide, Pitbull as host.  Did you catch the fashion that walked the red carpet?  No? Well, pull up a chair and I'll fill you in. At the 2012 award show, Christina Aguilera was beautiful in all her curvyness in a Pamella Roland dress, unfortunately, she went overboard on the suntan lotion.  Last year, she showed off a much leaner physique in a white Maria Lucia Hohan cut-out dress with a high split on the side.  Her shoes were Christian Louboutin peep-toe and I loved her pave jewelry. Global Fashion: For the Bride: Bridal Week in Barcelona

Tis the season for brides, in fact, it really is ANY season that a bride to be chooses to get married.  However many weddings take place from Spring to Summer.  It must be something about the warm weather coming back, and flowers blooming with that scent in the air...could it be romance?! I took a  virtual walk over to glamour.com and found some really beautiful photos of bridal gowns in an article written by Glamour contributor Kim Fusaro , in her article featuring Barcelona's annual fashionable event, Bridal Week.

Fashionistas - What's in a Word

You have heard this word before curvy divas , "Fashionistas"?  When it comes to anything to do with fashion and being fashionable, I am sure you have!  Do you know who coined the word and how it came about?  Well, first of all I didn't even realized that there was a story to the word, much less it being "coined" by any one particular person!  I just thought it was one of those words that came about and became popular because of its usage and in reference to anything fashion! According to Elle.com's Culture News, in an article by Rebecca Moss , the word Fashionistas was first created by Stephen Fried. In 1993, Fried, a young Journalist was writing a book about the Model Gia Carangi, who died very young, (sidenote-have you seen the [autobiography] movie of the same name, Gia? - I did and it is one to watch)!  Stephen met with people in the Industry and wanted a word that would represent who and what they were.  Because models and the Industry weren't p...
