Tis the season for brides, in fact, it really is ANY season that a bride to be chooses to get married. However many weddings take place from Spring to Summer. It must be something about the warm weather coming back, and flowers blooming with that scent in the air...could it be romance?!
I took a virtual walk over to glamour.com and found some really beautiful photos of bridal gowns in an article written by Glamour contributor Kim Fusaro, in her article featuring Barcelona's annual fashionable event, Bridal Week.
I "oohed" and "aahhhed" at the dresses showcased in her article and so will you curvy divas! I selected two of those photos which were my favorite of the wedding gowns shown and instinctively I could tell those were right for my curvaceous body.
The first of the two I absolutely adore is a lace design by Spanish real life sisters who design wedding gowns, designers Yolanda and Cristina aka Yolan Cris. What attracted me to it? The round neckline that is sure to showoff our beautiful neck, the laced sleeves that provided sheer coverage to the wrists of the model wearing the dress, the gold embossed, (or satin) belt that emphasized the waist. And the length of the dress and the train are tastefully done, not too overpowering. Clearly the two sisters have an eye for the feminine form by way of their beautiful designs.

The second design (below) is by Spanish Haute Couture designer Isabel Sanchis (whose work I love), let me tell you, in my vision, this gown has all the awesomeness of a modern fairy tale. I love the full voluminous skirt and the train, long and extending from the back of the waist, divine. The blouse or top is sheer with one shoulder gathered with a gorgeous bouquet of flowers at the top, while the only sleeve is a cap style. Again, another belted dress. As curvy divas we should not be afraid to wear a belted design because it helps to enhance our curves if placed at the right angle.
What do you think of my choices? Do take a walk over to Kim's article to see the other beautiful designs and come back and let me know which one is your favorite.
