Six Rules to Follow

We already perused having patterns and prints in our fashion wardrobe for the Summer.  However, we have to know how to wear them!  According to Styletips101 there are "6 Rules to Wearing Prints" that we should follow!

No. 1 - "We should wear one print at a time"

I agree with this somewhat.  If you're not afraid of making fashion statements or not afraid of the attention that comes with being a fashion statement, I say go ahead and wear your prints, any way you want to!  My rule of thumb here is to keep them in the same color family or in a color family that will blend well when worn together!  And if your patterns are similar, you will be a fashion hit!  See the following  image by photographer David Roemer for the New York Times; Styling by Susan Joy.

No. 2 - "Start with Accessories"

I agree with this fully!  First of all, as a lover of accessories, that's the safest way to introduce prints and patterns into your wardrobe curvy divas! In the previous article, I also featured accessories that would be a fun way to start with!

No. 3 - "Animal Prints" - when wearing it, "it is better to pair it with only black".

I say, again, it depends - on how busy your pattern is. On what you're wearing and on how you wear it!  Just put the outfit together carefully and you will find the style that will make you a fabulously diva!

No. 4 - "Keep it Classy"

No disagreement here! You don't want to look like a, dare I say it?  A circus freak!  You want to look well put together and stylish, not over the top!

No. 5 - "Fitted Prints"

Wearing prints that are not too large and in styles that are not too full-bodied can actually be slimming!  Another thing to note curvy divas, smaller prints can be quite flattering!

No. 6 - "Big prints and little prints" - According to the author of the article at styletips101 (no name given),  "Big prints make you look bigger, smaller prints are more forgiving"

I agree with her points! As I mentioned above, smaller prints can be more flattering.  However, there are prints and patterns on a larger scale that are fun to wear as long as you know what to wear and how to wear them!  Don't be afraid to refer to magazines and check online for tips on how to wear your style! And above all curvy divas, have fun!

The silhouette is beautiful and will flatter most body types!  I checked and this item doesn't go larger than a size 12 by the designer, and they are out of this style at Neiman Marcus, however, it's a great look and you can find something similar elsewhere!  If it is too long, find a shorter length. The Best Hair Color for You

You choose your outfit with care, down to the shoes you wear for that particular look.  You put your makeup on, and now it's time for your hair.....why is it not looking its best?  Everything that you do in trying to style it, is just so wrong!  You're ready to scream or pull your hair out!!!! Have you ever had a bad hair day?  I know I have, more than once!  Usually, if I'm lucky, I'll have time to wear a hat, a wig or pin my hair in a way to make it work!  It doesn't matter who you are, for every woman, if your hair isn't at its best, you will not be too ! When you have your hair, as some might say "did" or "done" you know you will be at your fabulously curvy best !  One of the  things I like to do is color my hair. Yes, it's chemical, so I guess I'm not totally au naturel!  You can try a rinse, which is a way to temporarily color your hair with a new look, or you can use a permanent color and rock your hair the way you want! ...
