Window Shopping: Fall Fashion Chronicles - Knits are In

Have you felt that change in the air? Do you have that feeling of summer being over? It is a resounding "Yes" and "Yes" to both questions isn't it curvy divas?

While the calendar has not officially announced the end of Summer which comes in a few calendar days. The air is not as humid and Labor Day holiday has come and gone. Those are usually my markers to begin looking to Fall aka Autumn.


                    

The magrags have already published their Fall Fashion issues, some of which I bought and will share more about  in other articles.  Here at Fabulously Curvy, the best thing is to go to where the fashion is, the Stores!

Last year we took a trip to The Mall. This year we selected a store we haven't visited in a while Burlington Coat Factory. I have always shopped Burlington and love their selection of clothing for the plus size woman. I noticed there were quite a few dresses, Knitted Dresses on the racks.

Most of the knits were by Gabby Skye

I grabbed a couple and headed to the fitting room to see which would be a good fit for my curvy self.

Ooh, this dress fits my curves awesomely!

Do you not see the awsomeness of this Gabby Skye dress?!






I really like this dress, but the design doesn't do a lot for my curves.  Hence ladies, choose your pattern fashion carefully!



What is up with Shoes this season?











Those are some of the looks for this Fall at Burlington Coat Factory.  I can't wait to get to the other stores to see what they have to offer.  Plus, we are still reviewing fashion in the magazines too.  Have you been to the stores?  What are you looking forward to wearing this new season?

As you know from my last article , I went shopping for swimsuit with my teen Mandi and ended up doing the same for myself. After all, I was in need of a new bathing suit. My last purchase for one was from Target eight years ago! And also during that time, I was the lucky recipient of two new suits from my BSFFL (Best Sister Friend For Life) who visited from Europe! So Those have lasted quite a long time!

A Re-post: Red Carpet Reviews - 2013 American Music Awards

Another post of mine that was a write up for Orlando Fashion Week Magazine.  It was published there previously.  If you missed it, I'm sharing it again here on my blog for the first time, with some edits for relevance of course curvy divas. A writer's work is never done! Let me know which celebrity wore your favorite style! Did you watch last year's AMAs? Me too!  It was one of the best with my favorite Mr. Worldwide, Pitbull as host.  Did you catch the fashion that walked the red carpet?  No? Well, pull up a chair and I'll fill you in. At the 2012 award show, Christina Aguilera was beautiful in all her curvyness in a Pamella Roland dress, unfortunately, she went overboard on the suntan lotion.  Last year, she showed off a much leaner physique in a white Maria Lucia Hohan cut-out dress with a high split on the side.  Her shoes were Christian Louboutin peep-toe and I loved her pave jewelry. Christina Aguilera at the AMAs in 2012 & 2013. ...

How to Wear Glitter in the Daytime

Have you ever worn sequin aka glitter?  It is pretty much a trend in fashion these days.  Glitter is worn mostly at nights and for real special and dressier occasions. But not so today curvy divas. Glitter can also be worn during the day!  I've worn glitter during the day time before and I try to make it look as understated as possible!  You don't need too much accessories when you wear glitter.  It is pretty much how you put your outfit together! On Elle.com Amanda Fitzsimons interviewed designer Marissa Webb who is known for using sequins during the daytime!  Amanda wanted to know if this look (daytime glitter) can really work? Marissa said it definitely can and thinks it is in how shine the sequinned (or glittered) garment that choose to wear is. It is not just in the size of the beadings at all! I tend to agree with her.   I don't think a really shiny sequinned garment on its own, would work for daytime. That would definitely be overkill! ...
