Fashion's New Darling - Amal Alamuddin aka Mrs. Geoge Clooney

She is not your traditional curvy diva, but she does have curves, and she certainly has a sense of style that I do admire.  Especially because she carries herself with such confidence!  I kept hearing about the woman George Clooney dated, got engaged to, and now married this past weekend.

I've seen her briefly not paying too much attention. But this past weekend, and because their wedding was so romantic & gave George's fan a "front seat" to some of the happenings of their special weekend; she definitely captured my gaze with her gorgeous sense of style!

Amal was so chic in Stella McCartney.  This is why celebrities love Stella's designs! This stylish pants suit has feminine style just right; and Amal wore it with style & flair; and oh that hat!

The Giambattista Balli Couture dress below, is a mini in front and longer in the back.  This style is usually called the hi-lo, but I heard Amal made the front even shorter. She has firm & toned legs I guess she wanted to show them off!  I love, love, love this dress!

I also like her "street style" in the looks below.  Unsure if these are printed leggings, jeggings or skinny jeans, but I love  the print.  A bold choice not many in her position dare to wear, but she does with success. (cute shoes too)

She wears flip flops!  A girl after my own heart, no wonder she won George's!

Couture, casual, business and street style, a rather rounded palette of style that has made her the fashion world's new darling.

A Re-post: Red Carpet Reviews - 2013 American Music Awards

Another post of mine that was a write up for Orlando Fashion Week Magazine.  It was published there previously.  If you missed it, I'm sharing it again here on my blog for the first time, with some edits for relevance of course curvy divas. A writer's work is never done! Let me know which celebrity wore your favorite style! Did you watch last year's AMAs? Me too!  It was one of the best with my favorite Mr. Worldwide, Pitbull as host.  Did you catch the fashion that walked the red carpet?  No? Well, pull up a chair and I'll fill you in. At the 2012 award show, Christina Aguilera was beautiful in all her curvyness in a Pamella Roland dress, unfortunately, she went overboard on the suntan lotion.  Last year, she showed off a much leaner physique in a white Maria Lucia Hohan cut-out dress with a high split on the side.  Her shoes were Christian Louboutin peep-toe and I loved her pave jewelry. Global Fashion: For the Bride: Bridal Week in Barcelona

Tis the season for brides, in fact, it really is ANY season that a bride to be chooses to get married.  However many weddings take place from Spring to Summer.  It must be something about the warm weather coming back, and flowers blooming with that scent in the air...could it be romance?! I took a  virtual walk over to glamour.com and found some really beautiful photos of bridal gowns in an article written by Glamour contributor Kim Fusaro , in her article featuring Barcelona's annual fashionable event, Bridal Week.

Fashionistas - What's in a Word

You have heard this word before curvy divas , "Fashionistas"?  When it comes to anything to do with fashion and being fashionable, I am sure you have!  Do you know who coined the word and how it came about?  Well, first of all I didn't even realized that there was a story to the word, much less it being "coined" by any one particular person!  I just thought it was one of those words that came about and became popular because of its usage and in reference to anything fashion! According to Elle.com's Culture News, in an article by Rebecca Moss , the word Fashionistas was first created by Stephen Fried. In 1993, Fried, a young Journalist was writing a book about the Model Gia Carangi, who died very young, (sidenote-have you seen the [autobiography] movie of the same name, Gia? - I did and it is one to watch)!  Stephen met with people in the Industry and wanted a word that would represent who and what they were.  Because models and the Industry weren't p...
