30 Coats: One for every day of the cold season

As Winter comes around the corner for some, and is already here for others, what is the best thing (after my favorite, boots) that some fashionistas look forward to? Well curvy divas, have you thought about it yet?  Coat season of course!  I'm sure by now you know that there is a coat for every type of cold-weather day!

On Purewow.com they featured 30 different coats you can wear, think of it as a daily guide for at least one month of coat-wearing during the cold season!  They have defined for each type of cold-weather day a coat or jacket you can wear! When it's Crisp outside, a bit cooler than the hot weather we are still feeling here in Orlando, then it's time to take out your blazer!

When it gets blustery outside, a lot colder than just a chill in the air, hello Bomber jackets!  I agree that this style is the "it" jacket, because of its edgy style!

Not in the article but loved this Woman's Plus Quilted jacket from Old Navy

Every fashionista should have a dress coat in their winter wardrobe.  What better way to top off an outfit when you are going to a special occasion!  The dress coat, aka a car coat, should be worn when it is super chilly outside!  I like it because it comes in varied lengths, from knee to ankle-length!

Do you know what to wear when it is really, really cold outside? I'm talking brrr-rr-frigid!  Parkas are the go to coats because of their heavy-duty feel!

This season you won't be disappointed by the choices you will have! Are you thinking of adding a new coat or jacket to your winter wardrobe?  Take a look at the article linked below! And send me a photo when you have yours!

A Re-post: Red Carpet Reviews - 2013 American Music Awards

Another post of mine that was a write up for Orlando Fashion Week Magazine.  It was published there previously.  If you missed it, I'm sharing it again here on my blog for the first time, with some edits for relevance of course curvy divas. A writer's work is never done! Let me know which celebrity wore your favorite style! Did you watch last year's AMAs? Me too!  It was one of the best with my favorite Mr. Worldwide, Pitbull as host.  Did you catch the fashion that walked the red carpet?  No? Well, pull up a chair and I'll fill you in. At the 2012 award show, Christina Aguilera was beautiful in all her curvyness in a Pamella Roland dress, unfortunately, she went overboard on the suntan lotion.  Last year, she showed off a much leaner physique in a white Maria Lucia Hohan cut-out dress with a high split on the side.  Her shoes were Christian Louboutin peep-toe and I loved her pave jewelry. Global Fashion: For the Bride: Bridal Week in Barcelona

Tis the season for brides, in fact, it really is ANY season that a bride to be chooses to get married.  However many weddings take place from Spring to Summer.  It must be something about the warm weather coming back, and flowers blooming with that scent in the air...could it be romance?! I took a  virtual walk over to glamour.com and found some really beautiful photos of bridal gowns in an article written by Glamour contributor Kim Fusaro , in her article featuring Barcelona's annual fashionable event, Bridal Week.

Fashionistas - What's in a Word

You have heard this word before curvy divas , "Fashionistas"?  When it comes to anything to do with fashion and being fashionable, I am sure you have!  Do you know who coined the word and how it came about?  Well, first of all I didn't even realized that there was a story to the word, much less it being "coined" by any one particular person!  I just thought it was one of those words that came about and became popular because of its usage and in reference to anything fashion! According to Elle.com's Culture News, in an article by Rebecca Moss , the word Fashionistas was first created by Stephen Fried. In 1993, Fried, a young Journalist was writing a book about the Model Gia Carangi, who died very young, (sidenote-have you seen the [autobiography] movie of the same name, Gia? - I did and it is one to watch)!  Stephen met with people in the Industry and wanted a word that would represent who and what they were.  Because models and the Industry weren't p...
