Wear Red Day

On February 1, 2013, the first Friday in the month of February (any Year), the American Heart Association honored that day in support of the fight against heart disease in women.  Heart disease in anyone is bad, however, the focus is in women because for us, most times we don't realize that we're having a heart attack when it does happen.  That is why it is known as the "silent killer" for many women.  To find out more about the American Heart Association's activities and year-long focus, please do go to the Go Red for Women website here:

Sometimes I'm in the mood for some color to brighten up my day.  I love pink as you know curvy divas, however, another go-to color of mine is the color RED! I love wearing red because of how it makes me feel, confident, bright, and I'm always complimented on how good I look in it! (so vain right?! No, it is okay to feel good about yourself!)

Backstage at OIFW Model Casting Call

On Saturday, yesterday in fact, I had the pleasure of attending a casting call for models , an event organized and hosted by Fierce Entertainment Management for their upcoming Orlando International Fashion Week, November  2-8, 2014 . Attendees at the event were welcomed by Fierce Entertainment's, Rob Henlon who then handed the program over to the vivacious Kristania Vielot who instructed the aspiring models for their walk down the runway, strutting their stuff for the designers and other members of the Fierce team. As the models strutted to the sound of the music-mix pumping, guests sipped and ate refreshments that were provided.   Before they walked the impromptu runway, I had a little  tête-à-tête   with three of the young models, Logan-9, Ashley-6 and Aiden-4,  beautiful, cute, and adorable , (who won't want me to call them that, but I am because they were) whose future will lead them to become what they dream of!   ...

Lacquered: Move over Glossy, Matte Nails are in!

In Purewow's Beauty section online, I read with interest that the new trend for nails this fall will be the matte finished,  as in shine-free!  Well move over glossy & shiny!  Remember curvy divas , there is matte makeup ; matte lipstick ; I even remember the matte finish jewelry trend , and now we have matte nail polishes!! Did you ever think that trend would be in nail polishes too?   According to Purewow, the Matte Finish not only comes as a nail polish, but also as a Top Coat! They recommend that we first try the top coat in matte finish to see if we like the look.  You can apply it over your regular nail color of the week and have matte-finished nails!
