Look of the Day

You've seen the advertisements and you do know that Jennifer Lopez' designs are now at Kohl's right? Well, I've been eyeing this sweater for ages, and when I saw it marked down, plus my 20% off coupon curvy divas, I had to have it!  And you won't believe me when I tell you this....guess what size it is?

I wore it to work with a dark bronzed tank and black trousers!

Although I'm wearing it in this shot, with just the top part buttoned, It does button all the way, and it is not tight!  Now, some of the regular sized divas might ask, well if a medium fits you (me) then what would I wear?  Well, to that I say, go in and try on a size that you think will fit, and find your right size! She carries sizes XS to XL and in the Women's Plus she carries 1X - 3X.  I'll be honest with you, I preferred the regular sized styles to the Plus styles!  I don't know what she was thinking, but she needs a real plus diva who is fashion conscious to go over her style board before she creates any more Plus sizes (she's not the only one guilty of this)!!!

The details on this sweater makes it very stylish!

A Re-post: Red Carpet Reviews - 2013 American Music Awards

Another post of mine that was a write up for Orlando Fashion Week Magazine.  It was published there previously.  If you missed it, I'm sharing it again here on my blog for the first time, with some edits for relevance of course curvy divas. A writer's work is never done! Let me know which celebrity wore your favorite style! Did you watch last year's AMAs? Me too!  It was one of the best with my favorite Mr. Worldwide, Pitbull as host.  Did you catch the fashion that walked the red carpet?  No? Well, pull up a chair and I'll fill you in. At the 2012 award show, Christina Aguilera was beautiful in all her curvyness in a Pamella Roland dress, unfortunately, she went overboard on the suntan lotion.  Last year, she showed off a much leaner physique in a white Maria Lucia Hohan cut-out dress with a high split on the side.  Her shoes were Christian Louboutin peep-toe and I loved her pave jewelry. Global Fashion: For the Bride: Bridal Week in Barcelona

Tis the season for brides, in fact, it really is ANY season that a bride to be chooses to get married.  However many weddings take place from Spring to Summer.  It must be something about the warm weather coming back, and flowers blooming with that scent in the air...could it be romance?! I took a  virtual walk over to glamour.com and found some really beautiful photos of bridal gowns in an article written by Glamour contributor Kim Fusaro , in her article featuring Barcelona's annual fashionable event, Bridal Week.

Fashionistas - What's in a Word

You have heard this word before curvy divas , "Fashionistas"?  When it comes to anything to do with fashion and being fashionable, I am sure you have!  Do you know who coined the word and how it came about?  Well, first of all I didn't even realized that there was a story to the word, much less it being "coined" by any one particular person!  I just thought it was one of those words that came about and became popular because of its usage and in reference to anything fashion! According to Elle.com's Culture News, in an article by Rebecca Moss , the word Fashionistas was first created by Stephen Fried. In 1993, Fried, a young Journalist was writing a book about the Model Gia Carangi, who died very young, (sidenote-have you seen the [autobiography] movie of the same name, Gia? - I did and it is one to watch)!  Stephen met with people in the Industry and wanted a word that would represent who and what they were.  Because models and the Industry weren't p...
