Curvy News: Plus Size Fashion Walks NYFW 2015

New York Fashion Week (NYFW) 2015 came in and went out like lightning!  We always love the fabulous styles and fashion showcased for the world to see.  I usually love to do what is normal and look for the people who look like us on the Catwalk. Are they curvy, any type of plus sizes on that runway?  Hmmm...inquiring minds wants to know!
Model wearing design from the recent Project Runway Finale Fashion show

I was pleased to find out that there was a very unique event that occurred on September 11 at NYFW. Have you ever watched Project Runway on Lifetime Television?  It's one of my favorite programs, and one I must confess I don't indulge in as much as I used to.  But I do enjoy watching it when I do. Well curvy divas, guess what?  One of the designers from the current Season 14 was the lucky presenter of their fashion at the show's NYFW Finale production.  Because there is a designer whose designs are geared for us curvy divas, there was speculation that the designs were hers!

Model wearing Ashley Nell Tipton's design

The attendees at the event knew there would be a featured designer, but had no idea who it would be. and what a fabulous surprise to see Plus Size Fashion featured and to think it was from Ashley Nell Tipton!

The Designer's clothing were well-fitted for the curvy models who showcased her exceptional styles well.  She wasn't afraid to let them wear the latest fashion trends either;  cropped tops, high-waist shorts, and flirty dresses were  part of an eclectic mix of patterns and fabric that enhanced the designs worn by the models.

I will be glued to the small screen to see who wins this season's Project Runway.  I am secretly hoping it will be Ashley Tipton. How about you?

Me 'n My 'Fro: On Being Natural - How it began

I mentioned the first article I wrote   about my hair that I would share with you my hair journey curvy divas. For the next couple of Wednesdays, that is what I will do on this blog.  If you are black aka African American as we say here in the United States (technically, I'm Caribbean-American), you know the ins and outs of our hair journeys. The success, when you rock your hair and look fierce; the woes, when you just give up and put on a hat!lol! And even wear a hat, just because you wanna rock that new hat!   I have always had what some called "a head full of hair", so much that the authenticity of my hair came into question quite a couple of times.  My mom loved to style our hair (my sisters and me) and would always have her girls looking beautiful in ribbons and hair clips where ever we went!   There are two incidents I remember distinctly, as a child, and as an adult.  Once in Primary school (that is Elementary here in the USA), a teach...

Fabulously Curvy Nominated for The Liebster Award

Fabulously Curvy has been nominated by a fellow Blogger whom we love to follow, our local royalty, Princess Kaija of the blog, The Life and Adventures of Princess Kaija .  She was also nominated for her work and as graciously given me the nod which we gladly accept. We love the adventure of getting "out and about" and meeting new bloggers and writers and we gladly follow back.  Thank you Kaija for thinking us worthy of the Liebster Awards . Forgive us for the late "acceptance speech".  Life has been inundated with family-life, exams & presentations, since we're in the world of students again, and research for our new looks on the blog.

Found: The TShirt Dress

I found myself at the Mall of Millenia, a high-end mall the other day, Amanda and I went on a little adventure at which I was very excited. This mall is a bit farther away from us so we don't get there as often. It was about time I visited H&M...oh my love for that store has increased!!!  While I was there, I wanted to grab a handful of clothing and run to the fitting room, but I had a hard time finding my size.  Where were the larger sizes for us curvy girls??!!  I thought there was a sectioned for plus size-didn't see if one and couldn't find sizes for me. Jersey Maxi Dress w/raw edges at arms & slit It was a busy place so I couldn't ask anyone who worked there (I saw so few employees), but the store was pretty busy... however after looking around, I saw a dress I liked, a large was the largest size, I picked one in each color, a black and a grey;  it was a tee-shirt style, cotton-jersey material; with a round neckline and a slit that had me won...
