Want: 2015 Spring Bag Guide

The list you've been waiting on whether you know it or not curvy divas, is here.  The 2015 Spring Bag Guide by way of Elle Magazine online written by Fashion Editor, Danielle Prescod

For me, it's been a while since my last handbag purchase.  And although I recently got wind of what is popular and trending by way of the 2015 It Bag, it is definitely time to see what I should add to my wardrobe.  How about you?  Let's take a walk and see what Danielle have found for us.

The Backpack

I'm not a backpack carrying person, (though I might be now that I'm back in school) and I definitely would grab this one, the River Island black leather-look drawstring backpack below.  I am a sucker for hardware and quite like the zippers and grommets which gives this bag a trendy but stylish-for-keeps look.

The Bucket Bag

One of my favorite styles in handbags that I own and love to wear during the "summer" months (June - September for me), is a white DKNY bucket bag; pictured below, This Kenneth Cole New York Nevins small leather bucket bag below reminds me so much of it - except my DKNY is half leather, half canvas.  This is such a stylish look.

The Tory Burch bucket bag (not pictured here) on that list runs a close second because of its rocking color!

The Clutch

I do own a few clutches that unfortunately don't get out of my closet much.  Clutches were mostly designated for night-time and cocktail parties.  Now however, you can use them during the day and take them anywhere.  Perhaps now that it has made the 2015 list I will step out with one soon. My favorite from this list is the Asos Floral Print clutch.  Not only does it "scream" Spring. It looks like a "million bucks" and at quite a budget-friendly price!

The Fringe Bag

I've owned a few fringe bags in my lifetime. I don't believe I have one in my wardrobe anymore.  Would this style be an option for you? Admittedly it isn't my favorite choice but I never say no to a bit of adventure! How would we wear it?  Hmmm, a sporty or dressy look?  I say you could dress up your fringe bag, and sporty is always a fun look!  My favorite from this group is the Cleobella Fringe Crossbody.  The color is perfect, and the crossbody handbag style is a plus. The lady in the image below wears the perfect look for the fringe style. Now picture that look but with heels and a dressy shirt or blouse....your style-look would be on pointe! (the "e" is deliberate!)

Also on the 2015 Spring Bag Guide list are: The Graphic Bag, much the same as a graphic tee - with a picture, my favorite type of tee.  Like the LBD there is an LBB - the Little Black Bag; The Micro; The Pastel Bag...perfect timing for Spring; and last but in no way least, the very durable and I can't live without them, The Tote!

Now, go on over to Danielle's article, elle.com to see the selections for the other bags, then come back and tell me which will be your favorite go-to bag of choice.

A Re-post: Red Carpet Reviews - 2013 American Music Awards

Another post of mine that was a write up for Orlando Fashion Week Magazine.  It was published there previously.  If you missed it, I'm sharing it again here on my blog for the first time, with some edits for relevance of course curvy divas. A writer's work is never done! Let me know which celebrity wore your favorite style! Did you watch last year's AMAs? Me too!  It was one of the best with my favorite Mr. Worldwide, Pitbull as host.  Did you catch the fashion that walked the red carpet?  No? Well, pull up a chair and I'll fill you in. At the 2012 award show, Christina Aguilera was beautiful in all her curvyness in a Pamella Roland dress, unfortunately, she went overboard on the suntan lotion.  Last year, she showed off a much leaner physique in a white Maria Lucia Hohan cut-out dress with a high split on the side.  Her shoes were Christian Louboutin peep-toe and I loved her pave jewelry. Hair Trends: Rainbow Colored Hair

I've got a new obsession. Yes, a new one, rainbow colored hair.  I am fascinated by the women who are bold enough to do this look. I did my own bold look two summers ago when I went a very daring red.   I am actually antsy and really want to try pink and blue and green...need I say more? LOL!  Because I have to keep my looks under wraps (at least for the next couple of months) so that I don't scare the very conservative people I work with.  I cannot be really "loud" with my hair.  In my heart I am a child of adventure and do not let others bother me but I must admit there are times when "they" will suppress my spirit. These days though I'm happy to say that I'm learning to live in the moments and I am again learning to let me be me. So yes, I will find a way to try new colors and I do like rainbow colors! How exciting. What I do like about rainbow colors are that there are some that are really LOUD , and others that make a statement without be...

Does Sustainable Fashion have a Future?

Being environmentally conscious is something I am learning to do and it is fast becoming a favorite topic of mine curvy divas . I believe that as time changes we are all learning to not just be aware of our environment but to act to protect it as well! We have to change our attitudes and behavior in our lifestyle so as to consciously help ourselves. Last month H&M along with Vogue put together a panel of fashionably conscious people participated in a live discussion held at The New School for Design at Parson's, about "How can we create a more sustainable fashion future".   Once again I turned to one of my favorite online fashion source, Refinery29  where writer Glynnis Mapp shared more about this outstanding event!  The panel discussed ways we as consumers could practice sustainability in fashion, and also how the government could be involved. There was suggestion of a "by the pound incentive program for consumers..." and where "points" could...
