Curvy Collaborations: Lilly Pullitzer at Target

Have you heard the news curvy divas?  Lilly Pullitzer the fabulous icon of all things print and pattern beautiful will be the next designer capsule collaboration at Target.

At the end of the summer last year, while shopping at my local Target and not "feeling" the style-looks that greeted me, I inquired about the next collaboration and was told there would be none for a while.  Guess what; it is happening soon, sometime this spring, on April 19, 2015. There are two things to note though, the first is those ladies who are oh so major spenders of the brand is not liking the Target collaboration.  They believe their brand is taking a step down from their high-end market to put themselves out there to the masses at large.  Um, I'm going to leave that alone as my comment may not be that nice.

Secondly, while the collaboration will have plus size,  you won't be able to go on a shopping spree with your girlfriends in the store, only online.  Say what now?  Yep, you and me, and our curvy friends won't be able to make your selection and go to the fitting room to see how much we like our choices, nope.  Your fingers will have to walk all over your keyboards and shop online.

I'm already losing interest in this. My excitement has waned and I'm totally over those rosy patterns!  How about you?  Will you be checking out this latest collaboration?  Do let me know what you think.

Me 'n My 'Fro: On Being Natural - How it began

I mentioned the first article I wrote   about my hair that I would share with you my hair journey curvy divas. For the next couple of Wednesdays, that is what I will do on this blog.  If you are black aka African American as we say here in the United States (technically, I'm Caribbean-American), you know the ins and outs of our hair journeys. The success, when you rock your hair and look fierce; the woes, when you just give up and put on a hat!lol! And even wear a hat, just because you wanna rock that new hat!   I have always had what some called "a head full of hair", so much that the authenticity of my hair came into question quite a couple of times.  My mom loved to style our hair (my sisters and me) and would always have her girls looking beautiful in ribbons and hair clips where ever we went!   There are two incidents I remember distinctly, as a child, and as an adult.  Once in Primary school (that is Elementary here in the USA), a teach...

Fabulously Curvy Nominated for The Liebster Award

Fabulously Curvy has been nominated by a fellow Blogger whom we love to follow, our local royalty, Princess Kaija of the blog, The Life and Adventures of Princess Kaija .  She was also nominated for her work and as graciously given me the nod which we gladly accept. We love the adventure of getting "out and about" and meeting new bloggers and writers and we gladly follow back.  Thank you Kaija for thinking us worthy of the Liebster Awards . Forgive us for the late "acceptance speech".  Life has been inundated with family-life, exams & presentations, since we're in the world of students again, and research for our new looks on the blog.

Found: The TShirt Dress

I found myself at the Mall of Millenia, a high-end mall the other day, Amanda and I went on a little adventure at which I was very excited. This mall is a bit farther away from us so we don't get there as often. It was about time I visited H&M...oh my love for that store has increased!!!  While I was there, I wanted to grab a handful of clothing and run to the fitting room, but I had a hard time finding my size.  Where were the larger sizes for us curvy girls??!!  I thought there was a sectioned for plus size-didn't see if one and couldn't find sizes for me. Jersey Maxi Dress w/raw edges at arms & slit It was a busy place so I couldn't ask anyone who worked there (I saw so few employees), but the store was pretty busy... however after looking around, I saw a dress I liked, a large was the largest size, I picked one in each color, a black and a grey;  it was a tee-shirt style, cotton-jersey material; with a round neckline and a slit that had me won...
