Curvy Looks: The Faux Fix for Celebs Fashion Faux Pas

Some time ago I shared an article I wrote about celebrities who wore the wrong style-look and it got me thinking that I didn't really give any solutions to what they wore, not fully!  It's like me seeing you leave the ladies restroom w/toilet paper trailing on your shoes, or yikes...hanging out of your underwear!!!! What would the fix be?  The faux fix......for these "oh no she didn't" fashion moments, aka, a fashion "faux pas".

What did Mindy Kaling do wrong here? Her ensemble shouts "busy", the wrong color combination. I've worn prints that mixed before, the trick is having colors that go well together!  The faux fix?  Her look would have worked if the prints were in the same color family. Or even had she paired either the top or skirt with a solid color. The accessories are also not right, they are great for work though.

Separately, the clothing worn by Star Jones (photo below) would be appropriate, but together, it is one big mess. The faux fix? Get rid of the hat and fur jacket. Her shoes are also too serious for such a cute maxi dress. Strappy sandals would look great!

Reality star JWoww is not your typical plus size, but she is curvy. While I love the idea of swimwear as outerwear, JWoww's top looks ill-fitting and cuts her in half. The faux fix? Keep the wrap, wear a better fitting swimsuit or blouse!  I love her shoes.  She should lose the hat too.

JWoww's bestie,  Snooki, is wearing a pair of parachute-style pants that can sometimes be a good look if worn right. I would usually say it is another fashion don't because it makes you look larger than you are. However, the faux fix would be to wear a fitted top and a pair of strappy or thong sandals.

I'm sure they probably won't care about the bad fashion list, or even my suggestions, but it's good to know what not to wear!  I might even make some kind of fashion faux pas again too; thank heavens it won't be all over the tabloids!

What are your thoughts on this curvy divas? Are my suggestions on point for each look?

Me 'n My 'Fro: On Being Natural - How it began

I mentioned the first article I wrote   about my hair that I would share with you my hair journey curvy divas. For the next couple of Wednesdays, that is what I will do on this blog.  If you are black aka African American as we say here in the United States (technically, I'm Caribbean-American), you know the ins and outs of our hair journeys. The success, when you rock your hair and look fierce; the woes, when you just give up and put on a hat!lol! And even wear a hat, just because you wanna rock that new hat!   I have always had what some called "a head full of hair", so much that the authenticity of my hair came into question quite a couple of times.  My mom loved to style our hair (my sisters and me) and would always have her girls looking beautiful in ribbons and hair clips where ever we went!   There are two incidents I remember distinctly, as a child, and as an adult.  Once in Primary school (that is Elementary here in the USA), a teach...

Fabulously Curvy Nominated for The Liebster Award

Fabulously Curvy has been nominated by a fellow Blogger whom we love to follow, our local royalty, Princess Kaija of the blog, The Life and Adventures of Princess Kaija .  She was also nominated for her work and as graciously given me the nod which we gladly accept. We love the adventure of getting "out and about" and meeting new bloggers and writers and we gladly follow back.  Thank you Kaija for thinking us worthy of the Liebster Awards . Forgive us for the late "acceptance speech".  Life has been inundated with family-life, exams & presentations, since we're in the world of students again, and research for our new looks on the blog.

Found: The TShirt Dress

I found myself at the Mall of Millenia, a high-end mall the other day, Amanda and I went on a little adventure at which I was very excited. This mall is a bit farther away from us so we don't get there as often. It was about time I visited H&M...oh my love for that store has increased!!!  While I was there, I wanted to grab a handful of clothing and run to the fitting room, but I had a hard time finding my size.  Where were the larger sizes for us curvy girls??!!  I thought there was a sectioned for plus size-didn't see if one and couldn't find sizes for me. Jersey Maxi Dress w/raw edges at arms & slit It was a busy place so I couldn't ask anyone who worked there (I saw so few employees), but the store was pretty busy... however after looking around, I saw a dress I liked, a large was the largest size, I picked one in each color, a black and a grey;  it was a tee-shirt style, cotton-jersey material; with a round neckline and a slit that had me won...
