Curvy Closets: 5 Accessory Items You Should Own

Did you know that because of the sizes of our wrists (and even our necks), we cannot always wear some of the fashionable jewelry trends we like curvy divas?! I have the five items that will always be a perfect fit for our size, and you can add any or all of them to your wardrobe.

(1) Bangles are fun to wear and you can pile them on for a fun party of arm candy. Alex and Ani at alexandani.com have some great bangles that are not only fashionably stylish, they are expandable.

(2) Rings are so fashionably trendy, large ones such as the cocktail variety; and small ones with beautiful gemstones comes in all shapes and sizes and with expandable fitting which makes them easily adjustable.

(3) I'm still on the fence about those mini handbags that are so popular these days, but a small to medium-sized cross-body bag can be a great look for our body-type, and will be a great transition from a larger sized bag.

(4) I love statement necklaces, but they don't always have to be of the chunky collar style.  They can be long and elegant and are so much better when they are adjustable.

(5) The one item we all seem to forget because we only utilize them when they are needed to hold up our pants, belts.  A belt can be a stylish accessory item to complete your look, whether edgy with studs or plain leather for that classic look.

These are five accessories that should definitely be in every woman's closet.  Do you agree? If not share your own with me!

Me 'n My 'Fro: On Being Natural - How it began

I mentioned the first article I wrote   about my hair that I would share with you my hair journey curvy divas. For the next couple of Wednesdays, that is what I will do on this blog.  If you are black aka African American as we say here in the United States (technically, I'm Caribbean-American), you know the ins and outs of our hair journeys. The success, when you rock your hair and look fierce; the woes, when you just give up and put on a hat!lol! And even wear a hat, just because you wanna rock that new hat!   I have always had what some called "a head full of hair", so much that the authenticity of my hair came into question quite a couple of times.  My mom loved to style our hair (my sisters and me) and would always have her girls looking beautiful in ribbons and hair clips where ever we went!   There are two incidents I remember distinctly, as a child, and as an adult.  Once in Primary school (that is Elementary here in the USA), a teach...

Fabulously Curvy Nominated for The Liebster Award

Fabulously Curvy has been nominated by a fellow Blogger whom we love to follow, our local royalty, Princess Kaija of the blog, The Life and Adventures of Princess Kaija .  She was also nominated for her work and as graciously given me the nod which we gladly accept. We love the adventure of getting "out and about" and meeting new bloggers and writers and we gladly follow back.  Thank you Kaija for thinking us worthy of the Liebster Awards . Forgive us for the late "acceptance speech".  Life has been inundated with family-life, exams & presentations, since we're in the world of students again, and research for our new looks on the blog.

Found: The TShirt Dress

I found myself at the Mall of Millenia, a high-end mall the other day, Amanda and I went on a little adventure at which I was very excited. This mall is a bit farther away from us so we don't get there as often. It was about time I visited H&M...oh my love for that store has increased!!!  While I was there, I wanted to grab a handful of clothing and run to the fitting room, but I had a hard time finding my size.  Where were the larger sizes for us curvy girls??!!  I thought there was a sectioned for plus size-didn't see if one and couldn't find sizes for me. Jersey Maxi Dress w/raw edges at arms & slit It was a busy place so I couldn't ask anyone who worked there (I saw so few employees), but the store was pretty busy... however after looking around, I saw a dress I liked, a large was the largest size, I picked one in each color, a black and a grey;  it was a tee-shirt style, cotton-jersey material; with a round neckline and a slit that had me won...
