Love Wedges? How to wear them!

I have this thing with heels that when I mention it to anyone, they look at me as if I'm weird.  I have to, HAVE TO wear heels, at least 80% of the time.  The reason why I have to wear heels a lot is because I'm flat-footed. Yes, I have very low arch, so low that if I wear flats for two to three days straight without any height in heel, my feet will hurt and then I have to wear heels to make my feet feel better. Weird, or a more serious condition? Who knows?!

I wear heel height from 4inches to 6 inches! Nope, I haven't mastered the 7inch heel, and I won't even try.  As a curvy girl, a six-inch heel is the height where I stop! I like wedges, high heels, and stiletto heels.  With some platform heels, popularly called wedges, the heel can be low, or high; however, the main thing is, the heel will balance the height of the heel so that you can walk with confidence!

On about.com, Desiree Stimpert wrote (1): wedges "...are worldly and eye-catching, ...very cosmopolitan.....looks great with nearly any length skirt or dress....are a fashionable choice....and will add definition and shape to heavy ankles, making them appear thinner". Desiree's article (1).

I so agree with her curvy divas!  So if you have never worn wedges (platform heel) before curvy divas, and you wanted to try it but wasn't sure how to, I've got you covered!

Wedges look great with Maxis, skirt or dress, shorts, even short-shorts, most dresses, and flared, or even boot-cut pants.

Wedges don't look with great with pencil skirt, capris or pants that are too narrow on the legs. However, I don't mind wearing them with leggings when I wear a long tunic/dress.

If you decide to buy your first pair of wedges, be adventurous and try a pattern or bright colored hued!  Also, be careful of a too chunky heel, because they tend to be a bit more precarious, but are fun if you know how to wear them!  When my Amanda was interested in wearing heels, I started her out in a pair of wdges that were perfect for her age and size. It is OK for pre-teen girls to wear a small-wedge heel.

Me 'n My 'Fro: On Being Natural - How it began

I mentioned the first article I wrote   about my hair that I would share with you my hair journey curvy divas. For the next couple of Wednesdays, that is what I will do on this blog.  If you are black aka African American as we say here in the United States (technically, I'm Caribbean-American), you know the ins and outs of our hair journeys. The success, when you rock your hair and look fierce; the woes, when you just give up and put on a hat!lol! And even wear a hat, just because you wanna rock that new hat!   I have always had what some called "a head full of hair", so much that the authenticity of my hair came into question quite a couple of times.  My mom loved to style our hair (my sisters and me) and would always have her girls looking beautiful in ribbons and hair clips where ever we went!   There are two incidents I remember distinctly, as a child, and as an adult.  Once in Primary school (that is Elementary here in the USA), a teach...

Fabulously Curvy Nominated for The Liebster Award

Fabulously Curvy has been nominated by a fellow Blogger whom we love to follow, our local royalty, Princess Kaija of the blog, The Life and Adventures of Princess Kaija .  She was also nominated for her work and as graciously given me the nod which we gladly accept. We love the adventure of getting "out and about" and meeting new bloggers and writers and we gladly follow back.  Thank you Kaija for thinking us worthy of the Liebster Awards . Forgive us for the late "acceptance speech".  Life has been inundated with family-life, exams & presentations, since we're in the world of students again, and research for our new looks on the blog.

Found: The TShirt Dress

I found myself at the Mall of Millenia, a high-end mall the other day, Amanda and I went on a little adventure at which I was very excited. This mall is a bit farther away from us so we don't get there as often. It was about time I visited H&M...oh my love for that store has increased!!!  While I was there, I wanted to grab a handful of clothing and run to the fitting room, but I had a hard time finding my size.  Where were the larger sizes for us curvy girls??!!  I thought there was a sectioned for plus size-didn't see if one and couldn't find sizes for me. Jersey Maxi Dress w/raw edges at arms & slit It was a busy place so I couldn't ask anyone who worked there (I saw so few employees), but the store was pretty busy... however after looking around, I saw a dress I liked, a large was the largest size, I picked one in each color, a black and a grey;  it was a tee-shirt style, cotton-jersey material; with a round neckline and a slit that had me won...
