An Awesome Arm Party

Accessories can enhance or detract from a person's outfit.  It can be your signature go-to look because you love to wear it so much or it can be just a way to have fun with fashion!  I like that we have choices. I also like that these days with fashion, your individuality shines through with the way you put yourself together!  For some of us, we have a hard time knowing what to wear, how to wear a certain look or even we probably wouldn't dare to wear something because we think we might not look good in "that"!

I hear ya curvy divas. Some days, a girl just have a hard time going through her closet, however, when it comes to accessories, this is where the fun begins!  For me personally, sometimes I build my outfit "around" what my accessory choice of the day is! Yes, I do and usually it turns out to be a success!

Purewow.com featured some accessories recently.  The title of their article was, "Stack the Deck - A Grownup Arm Party"!  They featured bracelets and cuffs, and the many different ways to wear them. A favorite look these days is to wear multiple bracelets on one arm!  It is a look I've always loved and wear quite often.

I agree with their strategy in that if you wear a large piece, you can also add two (or more) smaller pieces so as not to overwhelm the look!  You can also mix and match textures and colors, and even types of bracelets. such as gold with silver, gemstones with diamonds, or leather with anything!

They also suggest wearing your fakes with your real diamonds! I'm not ashamed to say I own a couple of fakes!  I love gemstones and as those are usually the easiest to afford, I have a couple of nice ones!

Me 'n My 'Fro: On Being Natural - How it began

I mentioned the first article I wrote   about my hair that I would share with you my hair journey curvy divas. For the next couple of Wednesdays, that is what I will do on this blog.  If you are black aka African American as we say here in the United States (technically, I'm Caribbean-American), you know the ins and outs of our hair journeys. The success, when you rock your hair and look fierce; the woes, when you just give up and put on a hat!lol! And even wear a hat, just because you wanna rock that new hat!   I have always had what some called "a head full of hair", so much that the authenticity of my hair came into question quite a couple of times.  My mom loved to style our hair (my sisters and me) and would always have her girls looking beautiful in ribbons and hair clips where ever we went!   There are two incidents I remember distinctly, as a child, and as an adult.  Once in Primary school (that is Elementary here in the USA), a teach...

Fabulously Curvy Nominated for The Liebster Award

Fabulously Curvy has been nominated by a fellow Blogger whom we love to follow, our local royalty, Princess Kaija of the blog, The Life and Adventures of Princess Kaija .  She was also nominated for her work and as graciously given me the nod which we gladly accept. We love the adventure of getting "out and about" and meeting new bloggers and writers and we gladly follow back.  Thank you Kaija for thinking us worthy of the Liebster Awards . Forgive us for the late "acceptance speech".  Life has been inundated with family-life, exams & presentations, since we're in the world of students again, and research for our new looks on the blog.

Found: The TShirt Dress

I found myself at the Mall of Millenia, a high-end mall the other day, Amanda and I went on a little adventure at which I was very excited. This mall is a bit farther away from us so we don't get there as often. It was about time I visited H&M...oh my love for that store has increased!!!  While I was there, I wanted to grab a handful of clothing and run to the fitting room, but I had a hard time finding my size.  Where were the larger sizes for us curvy girls??!!  I thought there was a sectioned for plus size-didn't see if one and couldn't find sizes for me. Jersey Maxi Dress w/raw edges at arms & slit It was a busy place so I couldn't ask anyone who worked there (I saw so few employees), but the store was pretty busy... however after looking around, I saw a dress I liked, a large was the largest size, I picked one in each color, a black and a grey;  it was a tee-shirt style, cotton-jersey material; with a round neckline and a slit that had me won...
