Seven Things You SHOULD Wear on a Plane

Last year I wrote an article with suggestions about what you should not wear on a plane, you know, when you're travelling! Well curvy divas, I found out the Seven things that you SHOULD wear on a plane!  Why do you need this information? Well, it might come in handy because flying on a plane is not the most rested of thing to do.  It can be one of the most harried and uncomfortable moments of your life.  So if you can make yourself as comfortable as possible, wouldn't you try to?

Caroline Costello shared some tips on Smartertravel.com. Her first suggestion is to wear layers, and lots of it, if you can.  Not only will you be able to handle the different temperature changes on the plane, depending on where you're going, or coming from, you can take off, or keep some of those layers!  And even more important, dressing in layers means that you will be packing less clothing!

You will want to wear clothing that is not only comfortable, but that will literally be "breathable" fabric, such as cotton.

Wear support hosiery or socks. That is socks that will support your legs and keep the oxygen moving.  Remember for some people who fly, they might be prone to leg swellings or have medical issues that could be difficult, wearing support hosiery or socks will keep your circulation moving!

You should also wear comfortable flats
Wearing shoes that can easily be taken off, or put back on, is a plus.  For men I would say wear loafers instead of sneakers!

Ms. Costello also recommends wearing clothing with lots of pockets.  I totally agree with that!  You would be surprise at how handy having more than one pockets is!  You can put your passport, ticket, and sunglasses in different pockets.  This will leave your hands free to carry your hand luggage!

Wearing loose fitting clothing is also one of those seven items!  Remember you're flying, you want to be comfortable, do you see the theme we're going with curvy divas?

Last but not least wearing something fashionably stylish!  Now I know you might be saying to yourself, "What?"  Because after the list above, something stylish?!  Well, of course, we don't want you looking like an overstuffed bear or a penguin! You also don't want to look like a bum!  Nope, the reason why you should dress stylish and neat, is because sometimes, the flight attendants will give free upgrades to passengers who are nicely dressed!

So, the next time you're going on a plane, try wearing a tee-shirt layered over a tank, with a jacket that has lots of pockets, a pair of jeans or a nice skirt, nice flats (loafers for men) with support tights or socks, and have a great looking handbag! Whew~  I think we nailed it!

A Re-post: Red Carpet Reviews - 2013 American Music Awards

Another post of mine that was a write up for Orlando Fashion Week Magazine.  It was published there previously.  If you missed it, I'm sharing it again here on my blog for the first time, with some edits for relevance of course curvy divas. A writer's work is never done! Let me know which celebrity wore your favorite style! Did you watch last year's AMAs? Me too!  It was one of the best with my favorite Mr. Worldwide, Pitbull as host.  Did you catch the fashion that walked the red carpet?  No? Well, pull up a chair and I'll fill you in. At the 2012 award show, Christina Aguilera was beautiful in all her curvyness in a Pamella Roland dress, unfortunately, she went overboard on the suntan lotion.  Last year, she showed off a much leaner physique in a white Maria Lucia Hohan cut-out dress with a high split on the side.  Her shoes were Christian Louboutin peep-toe and I loved her pave jewelry. Hair Trends: Rainbow Colored Hair

I've got a new obsession. Yes, a new one, rainbow colored hair.  I am fascinated by the women who are bold enough to do this look. I did my own bold look two summers ago when I went a very daring red.   I am actually antsy and really want to try pink and blue and green...need I say more? LOL!  Because I have to keep my looks under wraps (at least for the next couple of months) so that I don't scare the very conservative people I work with.  I cannot be really "loud" with my hair.  In my heart I am a child of adventure and do not let others bother me but I must admit there are times when "they" will suppress my spirit. These days though I'm happy to say that I'm learning to live in the moments and I am again learning to let me be me. So yes, I will find a way to try new colors and I do like rainbow colors! How exciting. What I do like about rainbow colors are that there are some that are really LOUD , and others that make a statement without be...

Does Sustainable Fashion have a Future?

Being environmentally conscious is something I am learning to do and it is fast becoming a favorite topic of mine curvy divas . I believe that as time changes we are all learning to not just be aware of our environment but to act to protect it as well! We have to change our attitudes and behavior in our lifestyle so as to consciously help ourselves. Last month H&M along with Vogue put together a panel of fashionably conscious people participated in a live discussion held at The New School for Design at Parson's, about "How can we create a more sustainable fashion future".   Once again I turned to one of my favorite online fashion source, Refinery29  where writer Glynnis Mapp shared more about this outstanding event!  The panel discussed ways we as consumers could practice sustainability in fashion, and also how the government could be involved. There was suggestion of a "by the pound incentive program for consumers..." and where "points" could...
