What Not to do to your Shoes

According to Author, Nicole Akhtarzad on whowhatwear.com, there are worst things you can do to your shoes; that is, things you absolutely should not be doing.  Let's face it, most women, myself included are shoe-o-holics! Personally, I don't know what it is about shoes that let's me melt when I see a lovely pair that is constructed with the most gracious care, and a silhouette that makes you swoon.
ASOS on a Roll Laced Up Shoes

I. Love. Shoes.  No wonder I had to name this section...articles about shoes....Oh My Shoegasm! The one thing I do dislike, shoes that hurt my feet.  And let me tell you, as a flat-footed maven, I hobble if the shoes are not comfortable.  I have some issues that I will have to visit a podiatrist about...due to running...and yes, I still love to run...go figure!  Let me not drift this convo anymore...let's get back to shoes.

Check out our fan page on Facebook, I posted a link on what you should do so your heels don't hurt.  However, in her article, Nicole found out from a Cobbler some of the things we women do that we should not be doing to our footwear.

What may those be? When it comes to your sneakers, you shouldn't wash them....um..you mean those stinky sneaks should not be washed?! Well, YES, you have to wash them, but don't throw them in the washing machine!  It goes without saying why...they pull apart easily.

Don't wear your suede shoes in the rain.  They will not get back into shape so easily when you slush through, rain, snow or mud. Do what I do and have an extra pair handy in your car, or under your desk to switch out during bad weather.

Stop over wearing your shoes. That means you should switch them out so you don't wear the same pair everyday.

What else should we not do to our shoes?  Leaving them in the closet for a better occasion.  Wear those gorgeous pair wherever you want to go.  You bought them so do wear them!

Me 'n My 'Fro: On Being Natural - How it began

I mentioned the first article I wrote   about my hair that I would share with you my hair journey curvy divas. For the next couple of Wednesdays, that is what I will do on this blog.  If you are black aka African American as we say here in the United States (technically, I'm Caribbean-American), you know the ins and outs of our hair journeys. The success, when you rock your hair and look fierce; the woes, when you just give up and put on a hat!lol! And even wear a hat, just because you wanna rock that new hat!   I have always had what some called "a head full of hair", so much that the authenticity of my hair came into question quite a couple of times.  My mom loved to style our hair (my sisters and me) and would always have her girls looking beautiful in ribbons and hair clips where ever we went!   There are two incidents I remember distinctly, as a child, and as an adult.  Once in Primary school (that is Elementary here in the USA), a teach...

Fabulously Curvy Nominated for The Liebster Award

Fabulously Curvy has been nominated by a fellow Blogger whom we love to follow, our local royalty, Princess Kaija of the blog, The Life and Adventures of Princess Kaija .  She was also nominated for her work and as graciously given me the nod which we gladly accept. We love the adventure of getting "out and about" and meeting new bloggers and writers and we gladly follow back.  Thank you Kaija for thinking us worthy of the Liebster Awards . Forgive us for the late "acceptance speech".  Life has been inundated with family-life, exams & presentations, since we're in the world of students again, and research for our new looks on the blog.

Found: The TShirt Dress

I found myself at the Mall of Millenia, a high-end mall the other day, Amanda and I went on a little adventure at which I was very excited. This mall is a bit farther away from us so we don't get there as often. It was about time I visited H&M...oh my love for that store has increased!!!  While I was there, I wanted to grab a handful of clothing and run to the fitting room, but I had a hard time finding my size.  Where were the larger sizes for us curvy girls??!!  I thought there was a sectioned for plus size-didn't see if one and couldn't find sizes for me. Jersey Maxi Dress w/raw edges at arms & slit It was a busy place so I couldn't ask anyone who worked there (I saw so few employees), but the store was pretty busy... however after looking around, I saw a dress I liked, a large was the largest size, I picked one in each color, a black and a grey;  it was a tee-shirt style, cotton-jersey material; with a round neckline and a slit that had me won...
