Having Effortless Style

There are times when I feel like dressing up, piling on lots of jewelry, makeup and really "killing it" with my fashion look.  And there are those times when I just want to be simply yet stylishly dressed.  No fuss, yet exuding effortless style.

I find that as I get older I am geared towards making my style more effortless.  Oh still stylish, just not as over the top as I used to be.  I wonder if it is because of our mindset, how we begin to look at life, where we are, what we are doing and what our outlook is why we begin to think differently?  I like to think that it is just a part of me growing up!

So while I will continue to "rock out" and have my fierce fashion moments, I want to do it in a way that exudes style-spotter confidence rather than as a trendy fashionista.  Am I making sense to you I wonder curvy divas?!
I'm not going to stop being me.  Instead, I will be even more selective in what I wear, and wear it with the confidence of who I am.

Going forward I am going to have a series of "style-spotting effortless fashion" and share what I think those fashion are.  How about you, are you changing up your looks and how you feel about your fashion?  I would love to know what you are doing differently these days!

Me 'n My 'Fro: On Being Natural - How it began

I mentioned the first article I wrote   about my hair that I would share with you my hair journey curvy divas. For the next couple of Wednesdays, that is what I will do on this blog.  If you are black aka African American as we say here in the United States (technically, I'm Caribbean-American), you know the ins and outs of our hair journeys. The success, when you rock your hair and look fierce; the woes, when you just give up and put on a hat!lol! And even wear a hat, just because you wanna rock that new hat!   I have always had what some called "a head full of hair", so much that the authenticity of my hair came into question quite a couple of times.  My mom loved to style our hair (my sisters and me) and would always have her girls looking beautiful in ribbons and hair clips where ever we went!   There are two incidents I remember distinctly, as a child, and as an adult.  Once in Primary school (that is Elementary here in the USA), a teach...

Fabulously Curvy Nominated for The Liebster Award

Fabulously Curvy has been nominated by a fellow Blogger whom we love to follow, our local royalty, Princess Kaija of the blog, The Life and Adventures of Princess Kaija .  She was also nominated for her work and as graciously given me the nod which we gladly accept. We love the adventure of getting "out and about" and meeting new bloggers and writers and we gladly follow back.  Thank you Kaija for thinking us worthy of the Liebster Awards . Forgive us for the late "acceptance speech".  Life has been inundated with family-life, exams & presentations, since we're in the world of students again, and research for our new looks on the blog.

Found: The TShirt Dress

I found myself at the Mall of Millenia, a high-end mall the other day, Amanda and I went on a little adventure at which I was very excited. This mall is a bit farther away from us so we don't get there as often. It was about time I visited H&M...oh my love for that store has increased!!!  While I was there, I wanted to grab a handful of clothing and run to the fitting room, but I had a hard time finding my size.  Where were the larger sizes for us curvy girls??!!  I thought there was a sectioned for plus size-didn't see if one and couldn't find sizes for me. Jersey Maxi Dress w/raw edges at arms & slit It was a busy place so I couldn't ask anyone who worked there (I saw so few employees), but the store was pretty busy... however after looking around, I saw a dress I liked, a large was the largest size, I picked one in each color, a black and a grey;  it was a tee-shirt style, cotton-jersey material; with a round neckline and a slit that had me won...
