If You Love Designer Wares - How to buy at Your Price

Many of us love Designer brand clothing.  We love it so much that we eat, sleep and well, do everything we can to get them in our closets!  When I have a brand that I love in my closet, that makes this girl very happy.  While I don't "corner" the market on the brands I enjoy wearing, I do have one trick I use so that I can afford those that I absolutely adore.

Do you want to know what that trick is?  I am sure that you, my dear curvy divas, know this already because you have been doing the very same thing all along, especially since you read and follow this blog.

The one thing all of us fashionable ladies do, and of course some gents who are in the know, we shop the bargains!  We wait for and look for the sales and discounts!  Do I hear an "Amen"?!lol~!  Yes, that is exactly what we do. Not everyone has disposable income, or spendable cash all of the time, therefore we love sales!  Whenever our favorite brands and/or designers are on sale, well, we're all over it!

To purchase at "my price", I continue to do this:

  • I browse my favorite store and look at new items and designs that are in.
  • When the price is not right for me, I wait for it to go on sale; or I will ask a sales associate in the store when their sale will be coming up. And you know what, they usually tell me, and some of the intuitive ones will even take your number!
  • Watch and see. Yes, I stalk the item(s) until they are at the lowest price! Have you ever done that?!  Even better is when the item is on sale in the store, and it gets matched for a competitors price!
  • Once I was in the store shopping, I went in with a coupon that was mailed to me; in addition, there was a sale that very day with additional mark downs...then guess what else?  The item(s) were already on the stores lowest mark down!  I purchased that item for less than buyers cost!
  • It is good to note that sometimes the prices online are a lot less than those in the store.

So the next time you want to purchase your favorite designer wares, shop around, or wait for the sale!

Me 'n My 'Fro: On Being Natural - How it began

I mentioned the first article I wrote   about my hair that I would share with you my hair journey curvy divas. For the next couple of Wednesdays, that is what I will do on this blog.  If you are black aka African American as we say here in the United States (technically, I'm Caribbean-American), you know the ins and outs of our hair journeys. The success, when you rock your hair and look fierce; the woes, when you just give up and put on a hat!lol! And even wear a hat, just because you wanna rock that new hat!   I have always had what some called "a head full of hair", so much that the authenticity of my hair came into question quite a couple of times.  My mom loved to style our hair (my sisters and me) and would always have her girls looking beautiful in ribbons and hair clips where ever we went!   There are two incidents I remember distinctly, as a child, and as an adult.  Once in Primary school (that is Elementary here in the USA), a teach...

Fabulously Curvy Nominated for The Liebster Award

Fabulously Curvy has been nominated by a fellow Blogger whom we love to follow, our local royalty, Princess Kaija of the blog, The Life and Adventures of Princess Kaija .  She was also nominated for her work and as graciously given me the nod which we gladly accept. We love the adventure of getting "out and about" and meeting new bloggers and writers and we gladly follow back.  Thank you Kaija for thinking us worthy of the Liebster Awards . Forgive us for the late "acceptance speech".  Life has been inundated with family-life, exams & presentations, since we're in the world of students again, and research for our new looks on the blog.

Found: The TShirt Dress

I found myself at the Mall of Millenia, a high-end mall the other day, Amanda and I went on a little adventure at which I was very excited. This mall is a bit farther away from us so we don't get there as often. It was about time I visited H&M...oh my love for that store has increased!!!  While I was there, I wanted to grab a handful of clothing and run to the fitting room, but I had a hard time finding my size.  Where were the larger sizes for us curvy girls??!!  I thought there was a sectioned for plus size-didn't see if one and couldn't find sizes for me. Jersey Maxi Dress w/raw edges at arms & slit It was a busy place so I couldn't ask anyone who worked there (I saw so few employees), but the store was pretty busy... however after looking around, I saw a dress I liked, a large was the largest size, I picked one in each color, a black and a grey;  it was a tee-shirt style, cotton-jersey material; with a round neckline and a slit that had me won...
